Steve's Megasquirt/tunerstudio Help Thread

If it starts better in flood clear (when NO fuel is injected) then it's getting way too much fuel from the priming pulse or the cranking pulse, or both. Starting while in flood clear means it's starting purely on the excess fuel injected before it was in flood clear mode. Regardless, once it's running, I'd get the idle speed set and start tuning once it's warmed up, then go back to dialing in the startup stuff after the VE table is at least in the ballpark.

Start up tables very rarely need to be adjusted from the base tune. the ve table is far to rich once adjusted it will start without issue 99% of the time. save for stroker motors but just a few percent is usually all they need.

problem is you cannot tune off of narrow band sensors. the only thing they are good for are cruise ranges. you would have to tune by reading plugs..... not cool with boost sir.

IMHO there are plenty of cheap WB alternatives some for as little as 150$

I'm going to buy an innovate next pay. Was trying to start it and set timing and fuel pressure. Guess I'll wait.

Yeah, I can tune by plug but, no no, not on a turbo motor says the finger [emoji121]

A lot of folks have told me that the Kirban fpr doesn't hold pressure unless running. Strange because it held pressure sitting until I started it.

I'm just antsy.... and no chump. Lol

Where's the "No say's the finger" come into play here? Y'all realize I'm quoting a 3 year old?

Just wanted to see if you were watching.

How's everything going with the monster ? It sounds good. Any tuning light to shed ?

Your quotes will always live here.....so will boxes.Lol

Now that I'm starting to pay more attention to the tune I come across this little tidbit in the megamanual:
If you are running high-impedance injectors (greater than 10 Ohms), then set the:
  • PWM Time Threshold to 25.4 msec, and the
  • PWM Current Limit (%) to 100%.
So I open my tune, and it don't look like that.
To be sure, I measure the impedance of one of my injectors and it reads 12 ohms. So according to the instructions...I have high impedance injectors.
Now I'd load the current tune up here so we could compare, but I've been changing junk around a bit. The car has the unchanged current tune in it, and the program in my computer has fuel, timing, and now this junk modified. The old settings, were based around Low imp settings, and the PWM current limit was like 29.9%,....now I've changed it to 100% as per the instructions.

I do not want to overwrite a bunch of stuff that is working and cause it not to.

Hey Steve... I wanted to know if you had a pin out for 60 pin connector on mspnp2 eec4a8 ? I'd like to know what pins are being used in the factory harness. I can't find any info.

I'm looking for how the plug-and-play is wired to the 60 pin harness. I know it doesn't use all the pins...but what pins are not used on the aftermarket ecu.

If I wanted to delete pins...which ones are unused ? I could open it up and trace it but was looking for an easier way. Figured if I already have unused wire running from under hood to the computer...why not de-pin it and use it for something else...less wire running through grommets.

Will have my ms2 pnp Monday. Going innovative mtx-l. The ms site said this wideband is compatible. I'm assuming it should come pre loaded on the ms right? Looking forward to tuning!!
