I think that you're gonna end up being the guy walkin around MW w/ a transfer of the seat back and cushion on your ass.
Just remember to wear black shorts and T shirt when you drive it there.

** "Anybody seen Dave yet"?

"Yeah, He's over at the rescue tent,....Paramedics are trying to peel him and his son out of the car. It ain't pretty"

Personally,..for such a beautiful car, I think you should just stop trying to save old crusty sht.

Nothing says "Pullin out all the stops" like a new set of " My parents seat covers"

Just take a gander at these babies:

Can you even imagine the jealousy?

Honestly mike, I ain't saving sht here. I just don't have the money to buy the new seat covers yet. I have so much more to get before that right now.

I tried testing out the sitting on it thing for a couple hours last night to see if it would transfer. White towel method. No transfer on that.

Maybe I need to try the sweaty as* method and make the towel damp and sit on a heating pad too while twisting around a bit? Sounds like a fun night, maybe some body oil and Nora Jones in the background?

You just described my DREAM date!

Ok, to finish a thought on the rear seat covers. I've re-sprayed them and i will let them set for a week and put them back on the cushions. Once they're on them i will brush the cloth parts with a kitty brush to fluff up the nap. I will then take a bucket of warm water and a soft cloth and wipe them down really good. So, the back before

and after

Out of the blue, the yard owner sent me a text that he would be out there today. I talked to my boss and got off work about two hours early.

So I got the passenger seat, the center console and it's pieces, the interior trim around the windshield, the left kick panel, the cowel trim panel, and the glove compartment box.

What I've discovered, I need new seat studs and bolts, I only brought a 3/8 ratchet and sockets with me, that left rear bolt was a complete mf. I also need a console arm rest pad. As you'll see, I need a new package tray too.

I did NOT break ANY of those connector tabs! Who's your daddy? That's up at the front of the center console.

Center console and passenger seat out.

Took off that horrible dash pad. Do you see the two cracks i'll have to repair after i get the instrument panel next time?
IMG_2237.webp

Oooooooohhhhh, lovely package tray, huh?

LOOK! I have a t-top coupe! The windshield wiper arms really, really didn't want to come off at first. I think i will paint them the accent color as well. The hose for the spray nozzle was still flexible!

Do you like that nice green in the rear passenger footwell?

So i finally ran my hands over the remaining panels that i have to paint. The roof has a fair sized dent immediately behind the right t-top. The left 1/4 close to the taillight. The right 1/4 kind of little all over, biggest at the bottom of the sail panel. The driver's door had a couple dings up high and one slightly bigger dent below the moulding.

Man you have some work to do. But at the same time, you have already done a lot. I wouldnt have the ambition to be the guy saving that car!
Thanks Nick. I really can't look at it as a whole project. Beyond the "I want this car to run" thing.

I just take the next group of parts and do the best that i know how or can afford to them. So for me right now, these parts i got are the only thing that exists on the car. Once they're done, the dash will exist for awhile.

It's all looking good Dave :)
Have you showed the yard owner any pics of the painted parts?
Yeah Chris, he's really digging the work i've done. I think he's excited to see one of his mustangs being restored.

I think i have a customer for side work if i want it!

I showed him the completed hood and the repaired 1/4 trim today. He's really a good guy, i may help him in the future.
