Let's not forget that I am a willing set of hands with regard to the ms ecu build Dave. ( least I can do kinda thing still applies here) I believe that I'd do minimum ms2v3 ( same as mine) and let the factory EDIS-6 control the timing ( because all of that stuff is already there)
It's one thing to have all of the capabilities that a full on ms3 affords the end user, but I liken that to your phone...a iPhone 6 will do so much more than what it is commonly used for,..as most will use it to call/text/email/online,...
But if an iPhone 3 could do that too,.....why do you need a 6?
I understand it's about memory and processor speed,...something that a ms2v3 has in spades.
A Megasquirt is not hard to build,...but it's a btch to understand the tuning phase though. Steve has proven himself to be way more than capable w/regard to getting the thing running, and helping to tweak it once it does,
I'll build the thing after collaborating with him and you'll be done with me,...from there it'll be you and him.

Today is a landmark day for me. The red car formerly known as Doby left my garage finally today..
Don't be sad Chris! Imagine what I'll be doing to the blue car except with prettier welds.
The blue car has time on it's side, it will be a totally btchin' car.
If I'm driving it in three years, that'll be good.
And, for your sake I say this, I don't THINK I'll be mini-tubbing it.

Ok, since SOME people need progress pictures, no matter what. Here's a couple. Sure they don't seem exciting to the average viewer, but to me, they are serious progress.
First picture. An empty engine stand!! The 5.0 for the red car is gone, the stand is empty and now waiting on an SC engine! It has it's home now. This was at my storage facility, note the right fender and front bumper, I haven't seen them in a while. They're dirty

The second picture is almost as exciting. That's my new shelf for the engine as I tear it down. See the little white storage box with it's cool little drawers? I'll be getting several of those to keep the hardware organized as I tear it down. I will also get some medium size boxes for all the various parts, pistons, rods, etc....
The area where the new shelf is sitting right now will be reorganized to be the engine tear down and build area.
Next thing on the list is to get the larger storage area so I can take a lot of the stuff down there to make room in the garage. That'll be tomorrow. Of course next week, that will be Roby's new home.
Later in the week I'll be going to the yard to exchange these

A few things, I'll send the sc off to be rebuilt and ported.
The heads will be sent off for quite a bit of assistance. Porting, new stronger Springs, I'll put on a nice set of roller rockers. New valves, guides and stuff.
The block will just be tanked and checked. If it's good, just decking and possibly a honing of the cylinder walls.
It'll get a little more aggressive cam, new forged pistons and some odds an ends to include ARP studs for the heads to keep my new mls head gaskets happy.
Possibly a larger intercooler. Better radiator.
Larger injectors, overdrive pulleys for the sc to get a little more boost.
I'm wanting about 425lb/ft of torque from it.
Yeah, an 85mm throttle body, maf, Kooks makes a really nice set of headers.
At least a 10% overdrive. Possibly 15% if everything looks good.
I need to pick up a side job doing something. I am having to save for engine/trans mounts and a few new sensors. Speaking of sensors, anyone have a good source for Motorcraft sensors? Not sure my dealer keeps stuff for an '89.
Man I'm a little behind on this, but color me excited. I've always thought Supercoupes didn't get as much love as they deserved, and I've been wanting to see someone do a proper swap into a Fox for... As long as I can remember.
