Build Thread '83 T-top Coupe - Welding Holes in My Rear

Welll, well hell.

The rental contract doesn't allow for me to work on a car at the house. I mean to say, small sht like oil changes, brakes, new bushings on my son's car and the sorts are ok. Full fabrication is frowned upon and will result in a termination of my rental agreement..........

So, for the next year this is a chat thread interspersed with a part or two I'll be buying (MM front end!).

I'll be buying a nice little acetylene torch as well, maybe HF. I may pony up the extra hundred for a little bit better unit. We'll see.

I spent the afternoon at the Murder House waiting for the gas company to come turn on the gas. I have heat now! Yay! Want those ghosts to be comfy.........

I walked away without any scars or possessions (that I know of).

When the furnace came on though! OMG! The stink was just wonderful! I wish I could bottle it and send it to y'all.

I just got off the phone with the landlord and next week the furnace and ducts will be cleaned and sanitized.

The house I'm moving into is one third of the square footage of this house I've lived in for the past thirteen years. I do mean literally one third. I'm trying to look at it as a nice warm blanket you snug around yourself on a cold night, lol.

I had my first Dirty Bastard at the Murder House, figured it needed breaking in.

All said? It will be awhile before the Cliffnotes edition will be updated.

I also don't care what winter throws at me though! I WILL be brewing my first batch of beer the first weekend I stay in the Murder House. Murder House Stout shall be it's name!

Dang Dave that sucks, will the shop you work at let you work on the car there? It would be hard for me to spend all day here at work and then get the motivation to spend the evenings working on my personal car.

Sht Blake, don't feel sorry for me or Booger. I almost weep over the idea that I will be able to fart in bed and not apologize.

I probably could bring it to the shop, but I don't want to use up those chits yet. Later when the body is done and needs painting maybe.

Booger is my therapy, it's so much fun to work on and fabricate stuff for. So I guess I'm recommending Booger Therapy, lol.

Sounds like it is time to rent a "storage space" AKA Dave's Booger Hideaway. You may even find that the owner of the storage facility will ad suitable electrical connections for a reasonable price.

Where I live we have an association that does monthly inspections. We also can't do major auto work/repair in our garages, and I own my home. Now I must ask, have you seen the stuff I have done? Full paint jobs? Engine removal, trans swaps, full on parting to the bones of my 93 parts car.....this is ALL hypothetical of course if any association member is reading this.....just be creative. I am lucky that I have owned my house for almost 20 years, the neighbors all get along and no one would ever complain. One time the association inspector asked my neighbor if she knew what "THAT" was pointing to my engine hoist in my driveway. My neighbor replied "I think that is something he brought home from his shop for his friend to borrow"....I have no shop, but I have awesome neighbors!

I've lived in my house for 18 years since it was new. I have a next door neighbor that moved in a couple months before me. Nicest family ever. The neighbor on the other side of him moved out and a new couple (retired military in their 50's) moved in. The new neighbor complained because the old neighbor was cutting the grass all the way to new neighbor's driveway. About 6 feet of new dude's yard. Now Ricky, long time neighbor has the best yard in the 'hood. So it's not like he's scalping it. He's bagging it and blowing off the driveway.

New neighbor is a wanna be thug and got all pissed and was yelling, don't be comin on my yard for nuthin. Well, new dude didn't know original neighbor had fence put up and fence company put it about 1 ft into Ricky's yard. SOOO, just to make a point, Ricky had a survey done and had the surveyor flag and SPRAY paint the property line. He says he didn't say, hey why don't you move YOUR fence off my yard, but I think new neighbor got the hint, because he has been more chill since then.

I'm installing automated paintball sentry guns to cover the yard.

I'm going to be sneaky about it tho... One of them will spin around and blast anyone who runs the stop sign at the corner. :D

This will have to do until I finish ED-209  An upgrade from the one you saw in RoboCop. Instead of talking :poo: and then firing, this one can talk :poo: while firing. No other mods are necessary. It's now perfect. :nice:

One last maudlin picture, Booger in hibernation. An almost complete coupe in a bunch of little pieces there.

Another move picture. The brewing kit is loaded and moved to TMH now.

We had the inspections of my old house this last weekend.

Freakishly, everything turned out great! A couple minor things is all, minor like needing new outlet covers. Who freaking knew the home was that good? Not me.

So there's nothing holding back the sale. Thank you Lord Jesus. I wish I could describe to y'all the burden this house has been to maintain and let the kids feel free to grow up in. I'm thankful that there lives were relatively unmarred by the struggle it's been.

The cable gets hooked up at TMH this saturday. It will probably be the following weekend that I will spend my first night there.

A possession for Christmas maybe?

I told the kids to spend Christmas with their mother, that means me and the cat will be spending the first single christmas drinking. Charlie will probably have water, and I will have a slightly altered form of water. And I will be happy.

I don't mean to waste much more time on my trials with you guys, I appreciate your patience while I go through this.

BTW, a homebrewing thread? Hummmmmm...........that has a certain ring to it I like!
