SN95 What should be connected next to the grey connector on top of the Ignition Coil?

Can anyone ID what is missing from the grey connector on top of the ignition coil? I have tried finding it in images on other cars but have never seen anything like this on any other car that I have found. It's been missing for quite some time and I could not find any mention of it in the Haynes book either.

It only has a single red wire that comes out of what looks like the ignition wiring harness. And there's no ground wire so I'm assuming it connected somewhere that I can't trace.

Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm not sure. 1) because you don't see it on any other mustang and there's no reference to it in the Haynes manual, 2) I posted the same pics in another forum and although the guy couldn't remember what the part was he did say that he thought there was some kind of resistor that grounded on the right side of the coil where you see the available screw whole.

check this link out, its a question I asked a few weeks ago. I think it looks like the same connector youre asking about? I could be wrong.

Making progress, a friend who's a former dealer tech told me that it's the connector to this grey cylinder thing which most cars have mounted on the back of their ignition coil. I am missing it on my own, he can't remember what it was, can you?

The plug you are looking at goes to a small condensor like you would find in an old distributor. Ford put them on these cars to get rid of interference with the radio coming from the coil. Go ahead and leave it unplugged. If you have a problem with real bad humming from your stereo head to the parts store and find one from an older truck.

The look on the parts guy's face is always hilarious when you tell him you need a condensor for a new mustang

Thanks, there's no buzz or hum in the radio so I guess I'll leave it.
