Here's a V8/4 speed body in Facebook marketplace from Fayette, Alabama.
They're only interested in a trade though.

Yeah, I don't think they're going to get a lot of bites.

They'd probably be better off just selling outright, but I wouldn't imagine they'd get much out of it - at least not what they'd like to get out of it anyway.

Here's another on Facebook Marketplace. From the 4 pics they put up it looks like it might be worth checking out if you're in or around that area of Iowa. They're asking $3500.

THAT is a car that I'd make the road trip up from Texas to look at, with my trailer.

@General karthief check out those Ford Motorsport mudflaps! It's already optioned for you!

After spending an insane amount of time stalking parts and cars on CL nationally, I built a simple python script that does the stalking for me. While I did learn a bit of geography going from place to place in CL manually and it is strangely therapeutic to look for things. But, I have to say it takes a lot less time to simply get the answers.

I'm sure this has been done a jillion times before. I'm just wondering if it is helpful for stalking Mustang II stuff. The script is easily tuned for "granada" from which 9" disk brake axles are rumored to grow. Also, it can find "svo" for those special-special parts.

Not all the CL markets are represented in this script. Most of them are within the radius that I would drive. Others are simply to get an idea of what things cost. The script is purposefully slow. If you work the URL hard, it kicks you out. But I guess they don't mind specific and slow, queries that don't spike traffic or do broad data mining. Below are the top few results from this morning.

So far, because of the data, I have acquired an entire '78 t-top car for parts, a dashboard cover and followed up on at least two other cars for parts. So IMO I have been using CL as intended within the rules, simply with a little help from a computer. Maybe others could too.

In any case, I'm just checking to see if this is useful, a rehash, taboo, or what. This is how I stalk CL.

First things first, welcome to the forums! :)

I don't see anything taboo about it really. My thoughts behind starting this thread were to share with people who may not otherwise see ads from the area you're in. Your script can definitely help with that aspect of things! I guess my only suggestion would be to copy/paste the link with a short description, maybe the price they're asking, and copy/paste a photo to your post to help anyone looking through the thread. Much like my last post, #205:

I can see this method combined with yours being quite time consuming though. But I can see it being quite useful for those who are searching for cars or parts who aren't as savvy....

Not to belittle your effort, but you can use Autotempest to scour Craigslist, Ebay, and several other sites the same way.

That coupe in the Dubuque list has my interest piqued even though I'm not in the market for a project. First, it's almost identical to my first V8 II. Second, I'm actually IN NE Iowa visiting right now...... :chin

This looks like it might be worth a look if you're considering a project. It looks to be mostly original, and for the measly sum of $2k.....

Bad engine
Manual transmission
Damage on driver fender
Driver door won’t stay closed

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/d/creedmoor-77-mustang-cobra-ii/7143493278.html I really love the whole "Cleetus McFarland" vibe of the add, and the absolute bull:poo: of a "306 stroker" (If it's a 306, you didn't stroke a damned thing other than your you-know-what). Those headers, however, are genius.

https://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/cto/d/grand-prairie-1977-mustang-ii-ghia-v8/7144452017.html This one's giving me flashbacks. The gold '76 I used to have was originally this color under the gold paint... it was also from the DFW area, it also had the luggage rack and half-vinyl top, it also was near a $5000 asking price (I put it on my trailer for $1000)... think lightning could strike again?

https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/d/fort-myers-1978-ford-mustang-cobra-ii/7144246696.html Good-looking but slightly rough Cobra roller. @General karthief should go pick this one up.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/d/upper-darby-1976-ford-mustang-ii-ghia/7140705519.html Yet another super-clean, well-priced 2.3 or 2.8 Ghia has surfaced. Where have all of these cars been?

https://vermont.craigslist.org/cto/d/rutland-1978-mustang-ii-king-cobra/7144229472.html A King with cancer... but it has spare parts galore... is the price nice? I'm thinking it's not.

We'll just say it's a step in the right direction. ;)

Actually, my sister lives near Ft Myers, too bad it has the damage it has and they're asking what they're asking, otherwise I might look into it. That white Cobra I just shared in my last post was a serious consideration but apparently it didn't last long on the list....
