Hello from MN...after picking up my first Fox last Fall and searching thru this forum, finally had to sign up to ask all my burning questions.
Picked up this 91 vert that's mostly original except a couple body parts (trunk lid for example) and need to start a few fixes/upgrades.
Fixes:
Steering rack leak, leaking oil level sensor (just gonna plug it), water pump leak (between backing plate I believe)
Replace top (have just need to install yet
Adding:
Subframe connectors
Refurbed 10 hole wheels w/new tires

Welcome to your opinions on other stuff I should be looking at doing/replacing within reason ;)

Do you already have the wheels and tires?

Have the orig 10 holes that I'm getting powder coated now. Need to find tires and undecided what to get. Thinking I should go a little wider on the rears?

It's probably too late now but:

These are 17"

Here's a dyno vid of a car with those wheels on it:

And Yes! The wheels are responsible for those dyno numbers. :jester:

Ok, not really but they look sooooooo good and you get a much better tire selection that you do with 15s.

I got orig 15" for $60 for the set of 4 and with resto in the color/style I want I'll be saving about half, depending on my tire choice. That'd be sweet if my updated wheels/tires would return those numbers!
I just like the 10 hole as growing up that's what I liked, not the 5 spoke ponys that are on it now.

Yeah... I am also a [huge] fan of the 10-Holes. I probably have threads on this forum from 20 years ago, about wanting to widen a set. lol

The first time I saw them on a real car was when the site owner put them on a white 85 GT with new paint, decals, and trim. I thought I was going to need a towel and a cigarette. :coff:

Anywho... If you're looking for all around tires for a 15" on the street, the Cooper Cobras are pretty nice. Not very sticky but a long tread life. The 235/60 R15s will fit perfect, are a little wider than OEM and the same height.
