Front neoprene front bumper painted color of my 71 Mach1 some hair line cracks

I have started to notice my color coated bright red neoprene front bumper has some hairline cracks.
Is there a way to fix or hide?
I have thought of switching to a chrome front bumper. I read that some 71 Mach 1s had chrome bumpers if the car was painted with a special color.
Might be cheaper than having repaired.

Would appreciate some ideas. I feeling I am not the first owner of a 71 Mach 1 that has had this problem .

That happens, sometimes, when the paint is on a bit too thick. Changing to a Front chrome bumper isn’t just replacing one with the other. There are several related parts that have to be changed at the same time. You might do a search on 7173mustangs.com to see some threads of guys who made the switch. Good luck.
