Progress Thread “Rising from Ashes 6” 89 Saleen #391 build

Me too but Kanean never repopped this particular hood. They did do the sn-95 heat extractor.
I'm sure you are correct because my memory sucks lol
but it looks like NPD makes something similar in steel .

Yep, its a similar design in that they used vents but for those of us that are sticklers for details and and having the SA-10 hood exactly right. Its not even close. The only hood I’d ever switch on a Saleen is an exact SA-10 hood. As a matter of fact. The only hoods I’d ever use on any of my Saleens is their exact hoods or stock. But thats just me.

Time for the next phase. Blast, powdercoat,
Build the rear end with upgraded 31 spline while keeping the 3.55 gears as on the build spec sheet from saleen

I originally thought this car was black but in some of the pics it looks like a dark blue.
Is there flop in the paint or is it a dark blue ?

On a side not I would be scared to death about doing major work around that paint job !!
It would be just my luck to drop a wrench or pull of a socket and have it go flying into a body panel lol.

Its Dark Shadow Blue 7N and the color does have good flop to it.
Yes it can be nerve racking working around perfect paint but you do it enough its second nature. Tape and paper or clean towels help but its just as bad working with paint on a 2-3 thousand mile car

Was there a Saleen with louvers under the back bumper that ran back under the tank ? I remember seeing a guy years ago that swore me up and down his car was an original Saleen. This was around 2007. His car was a fox body.

Nope. Saleen bumpers are designed to basically attach to the tank cover and make
It look like one piece

Got to catch up on the fox saleen progress.
Finished up the hidden brake lines. 93 Cobra booster and master cylinder. Saleen alcon calipers and custom brackets/rotors
To fit it behind the saleen stern wheels.
Also installed maximum motorsports subframes, torque arm, panhard bar, coilovers with MM race valved struts.
Also picked up some NOS saleen foxbody wires for when I get into the engine.
