Well first off I did a search and found nothing. I got the car and I got the motor and tranny but i need a little help. Does anyone have a write up or has anyone done this before on this board?

Thanks.

Talk to SVT32VDOHC and do some searching about 5.0 Talk for "Project Hack Job" threads. He has a 2V 4.6 in an 81 notch, and detailed the build from start to finish. The wiring will probably be a bit different, but the physical work, as far as putting in the engine itself will be the same. You'll need to source a 96+ K member for a start, because the 5.0 K member engine mount perches are incorrect.

The '03-'04 Cobra combo into a fox platform has become very popular. It is by far the strongest stock engine to easily swap in.

You will need an aftermarket or '96-up k-member, a hydroboost set up, stronger brakes, and wiring diagrams for your car and the donor car. I do believe that there is a company out there selling an engine harness for the mod motor swap but I do not remember the name of it. The mechanical stuff is straitforward. The electrical stuff is a little more tedious. You may or may not need a custom driveshaft.

There is a lot of work involved but the end result will be worth it. There are some web page documentations of this very swap out there if you do some searching.

Good luck with your project and keep up posted (with pics).

I have a Cobra motor and trans that I bought with the idea of putting it in my 67 Mustang. That would be an awesome build but after a little research I'm not sure I want to tackle that project that size. I haven't given up yet but now I am leaning towards getting another fox to put it in.

Theres a guy here in Atlanta that did one in his fox vert. He sold me some leftover off his donor cobra so that's how I met him.

It's not that hard of a swap it's just damn expensive.
