Over the past few months ( well, like 2 years) I gatherd up a bunch of goodies. Edelbrock heads, Holley Systemax 1 lower, Fox throttle body conversion, LMAF...and most of the stuff to install everything...I say most because we all know something pops up....All been on the shelf getting dusty due to deploying, traveling blah blah. Anyway...water pump starting to leak...seems about the right time to get dirty....

Anyway, in that gathering stage, got a set of 1.72 Scorpions, traded for a 12 pack of Yuengling...(which is gold out here in New Mexico). Plan on retaining the stock cam, wondering if these will cause any problems, worth it, thoughts? Don't plan on messing with a cam, one less thing to worry about....have to make it all work nice with my Tweecer (not against paying for a tune, just nothing within 200 of where I live).... Have Fox valve cover's, kinda mocked it all up, seem to fit under after grinding a bit off the v/c's....Not against picking up a set of 1.6's if it'll make life easier....

Let me know...Thanks,
-Hef

I have 1.7 roller rockers with the stock cam.
No issues at all with the stock heads or the FRPP GT40 aluminum heads I've had on the engine.
The GT40 aluminum heads have 1.94" intake and 1.54" exhaust valves.
I believe the Eddy's have 1.90" intake and 1.60" exhaust valves.
The stock cam with the 1.7 rockers increases valve lift from .444" to .471".
So, not much to worry about.

I ran 1.72 Rockers on the stock heads. The only issue is the stock valve covers won't work with 1.72's. Although there is a trick, you can grind the corners down on the 1st and last rocker (both sides) inline then the stock valve covers will work. I actually did this because I didn't have different valve covers and I needed to get the car running. Anyway, they will work fine.

My new '95 is running 1.72s with the stock cam, and I like the way it sounds. I do have the FMS chrome VCs on mine and they work fine.

Thanks for the input...assumed they'd be fine, never hurts to ask. My new heads are stud mount...hence the Fox v/c's.....rockers have to fit under the v/c's which have to fit under the Kenne Bell....probably have a go at it next weekend...2 squadron Christmas parties this weekend.....
