So I finally got the old engine/Trans out of the 83 and partly disassembled.....
10" clutch in it... All I can find with a 26 spline are 10.5 or larger... If I install a Tremec I would like to go with a 26 spline input .. I assume others on here have fought this battle...
Any help here?

The 10.5" is a direct upgrade. The bolt holes for the pressure plate are the same.

Are you only wanting to get the friction disc?

I was informed by my sister, who had this car, that the clutch was "recent" before it stopped running and she put it in storage ( in around 98).... So if I could get a new 26 spline disc and use the rest was my first thought... After disassembly, the pilot bearing is frozen and the throw out bearing sounds like marbles rattling around, so a new pressure plate too would be the smart thing... I would like to keep the same flywheel after having it checked and surfaced......

Are you saying a new 10.5 clutch assembly will bolt up to this flywheel??

Yes. I did the same thing with my '85 years ago, and I recently upgraded my '93 to a McLeod 10.5" clutch.
