17 x 9.5 saleen wheels on lowered stang. will fit or not?

i have a 89 gt and wondering will 17 x 9.5 saleen wheels fit on my stang which is dropped with eibach springs. 1" inche in the front and 1.5" inches in the rear. and what tire size would be appropriate.

They will probably fit in the back. Most people run the 17x9 out back and in front. However, in front with the 9" rim, they report that the rim can rub on the LCA if you are not carefull.

So to answer your question:

1) In the rear - Yes
2) In the front - No

Tires on that sized rim can range from 245 - 275 without any fitment issues in the rear fenderwells. People do go above that but sometimes the BFH has to be used.

be sure to use the correct offset for your application and they will fit just fine. 245s will probably fit just fine without the use of a hammer in front. In the back 255s should not be an issue. Any larger and the limits are being plushed pretty hard. That is my experience anyway. My sig has my current sizes.

The wheels will be just fine, but tire size can be an issue, depending on what you want to do.

What year Saleens? If you are referring to the 99-04 then they are 18x9 and/or 18x10

How can you say this?? He never stated the offset of either the front or rear (authentic saleens are staggered) or which axles and spindles he is using. Your advice =

- first he said 9.5" rim not 9" and my point was that he didn't provide enough information to base any reliable conclusion on. Since you're giving such advice, I imagine you run 9" or 9.5" rims on your car. Please let me know how you did it, the variables, offsets, and your tire sizes then we can compare how your fit with how his may fit.

BTW - What constitutes fit? An authentic rear Saleen 9" rim with a 12mm offset on a fox running SN95 axles won't fit, so again your advice has no basis. My point is that you can't tell someone that a rim will fit without knowing all the variables. To say that he should be smart enough to order the correct backspacing is absurd. This board is here for a reason, one of which is to help others. We can do this by sharing our experiences and helping others avoid costly mistakes or help them achieve greater success. People that have no experience should not post a response just so they can watch their post count increase.
