Ok, spent mo money this morning.

These things off Amazon for the hood. Supposed to bolt to the fender using one of the existing bolts, and to the hood hinge, again using existing bolt holes.
89 ba buck bahs. fee shipping.

Then, CJ pony parts. Door gaskets, hatch back gasket, window run channel, black door locks.
like 117.00 All to fit a damn Mustang. It better work on the Monster s'all I gotta say.

So, despite the fact that I've said over and over that I was done spending, clearly I'm not.

The only things that are left: I gotta buy a power antenna for the front fender.

And I gotta buy the stuff for Mike's paint booth.

Then I'll be done.

Forever.

I have those hood struts, couple pointers, pivot the rear part of the base All the way to touching the fender lip edge, you'll mount the hood an inch or so over the cowl because theyll push it forward. There will be a slight rise at the cowl just so you know

Well, thanks for that. I had redlines on the red car, and that happened somewhat as well. (I didn't rebuy them because of the need to drill)
But, I will not accept the stupid things pushing the hood out of line with the cowl. If that can't be MacGuyver'ed out of the operation,...those things are going back via Amazon Prime, and I'll do something similar to my trunk (smaller lift force rated strut, extended way past mid point on the hood to increase leverage)
I didn't do that this time because I am tired of building junk, and the notion of actually being able to "bolt something on" instead of building something was too good not to try.

The main issue is not with the struts, but with sloppy fox hood hinges.

So you're saying it's the hinge that's flexing in this case? If that's the case, Not MY hinges,...My hinges aren't going to flex.

Naww I'm here to tell you. As long as it took to build this car, (and it's still not done) there will be no "next build" of this scope.

As long as I have this car "post build",......Will I add stuff, change stuff, modify stuff to this existing platform at some point in the future? Well of course I will,....Don't be ridiculous!!
But,...
Will I ever lay on my back and scrape the bottom of the floor, sit in a hail storm of flaming sparks, go through hours and hours of monotonous, repetitive motion hand sanding junk ever again? NO, No, No.

I think its just the pressure of the strut, I know someone who changed to weaker struts and used their brackets, rise disappeared but a good breeze would slam the hood... my hinges are completely tight and there is 1/2 the thickness of the hood edge up at the cowl edges, its not too bad and Im picky,

Nothing a pair of vise grips can fix once clamped on the hood strut

See the finger?

What does the finger say?

No! Says the finger. There will be no raggedy intervention on this. There is and will be a pwr antenna on the fender.

God wills it......So let it be done.
