We're having a bunch of people over today, so I got about a minute before the wife comes in and yells at me to get off here.
I decided.
I'll only put one on for now, until I get the car back out in the sun to see if I like it where it is or not. I placed it on the quarter, but the damn quarter is so big the decal gets swallowed up in the sea of orange. At least here there is a centered logo above the G Gill to kinda offset each other. I definitely like the subtlety of the decal,...It isn't screaming "look at me!!!".
The other thing worth mentioning is more of a question rather than a statement. I've completely wet sanded flat, and buffed the entire side of the car. It shines like mad, but you can see texture like crazy. Is that a side effect of a single stage paint, or si I have some sort of weirdness going on here?

I like the decal placement. You have boosted's seal of approval! I'll bet you fell completely satisfied now, don't you?
As for the paint, I think I know the answer, but I'm not 100% positive, so I'm gonna keep my fool mouth shut and hit the EASY button..

It looks like one out of a factory decal scheme, to compliment others. Very nice. I'd like to see a picture of the finished car from the same angle, outside to reduce reflections, because it's looking "sleek".
I'm not gonna look back through however many pages to get a reminder of the complete decal package, and I only remember the rear window ATM, but I think I remember there are more, right?

Can't confirm that it has a slight downhill slope. I measured the decal using the prominent body line as a reference line. I'll check it today again when I get more time to mess with the car.Not bad placement brother, even if a weeeee bit crooked.
Love the decal, Mike. Looks a little crooked against that lower body line though.
As for the paint, I'm not sure what texture you're referring to, but my single stage is flat. No texture to be found. Are you sure you sanded all the orange peel down completely?

Now you gotta know that that isn't gonna be possible.
Everytime I try to take a good pic, what I see with my eyes and what you see in the pic are never the same.

Before you rip it off, take another pic from the opposite angle, standing toward the rear of the car. Lets make sure its not camera tricks (unless you can tell in person its crooked).

I gotta tell ya, wetsanding and buffing a car is a bitc h. However, when stuff starts coming around like it did in my last post, all of the hard work pays off in spades.
I made a headliner out of hardboard today. It's heavier an a is all I'll say about that. I hope the P.O.S. doesn't sag or something stupid.
After cutting that thing out based on the old one I used as a template (I'm SOOO glad I kept that raggedy piece of junk), I had to flip it and score the back side with a razor knife...( The same one that I hacked myself with). By scoring the backside, I was able to "break" the board so I could create the angles that you typically see on one of our headliners.
But first, I had to insulate the roof.
Home depot stuff,....Kinda like bubble wrap that has foil on both sides. I'm thinking it'll work Muy Bien.
Then I drug that heavy assed thing into place, and prop-U-lated it up w/ a T bar that I knew I'd need.
All of the trim pieces that hold that thing up there aren't painted as of yet,...and some of the stuff needs modifying to fit the new interior.....Like the A pillar trim.
This took more than a minute to get to this level, but they're close enough to prime, so that's what I did.
Then,..I decided to piddle.
The tweeter is just sitting in it's mount. The trim piece has to go on first before that eyeball can be screwed on permanently.
And lastly,....
When you get down to this level,....I'm thinking it don't look crooked. So, I'm thinkin optical illusion.

Looks straight from that angle. Best way to know is when its on its feet and out in the driveway where you can stand back and look. Do you have all the glass in?
