It's so easy to consider your suggestions,....Good opportunity to polish the wheel lips. Then leave the Melvin cap chrome, and have the needed bling to balance things out.

But I'm not,....The sags are the direct result of me not knowing what I'm doing. If that was a rattle can, they'd be done, and they'd be perfect.Because now you're in a hurry to finish?

But put a paint gun in my hand, and I just may as well go and jam a stick in my ass. Cause just as surely, I'm gonna fck myself one way or the other.
The gun looks like it's blowing huge droplets of paint out of it as compared to the mist that comes out of a rattle can. The huge droplets look like they are just gonna dry, and become instant orange peel, so I slather on the paint so it'll flow together.
I'm sure that there is something wrong with my method,..either paint is too thick, or I'm not using enough pressure.
You'd think I'd know this by now,....![]()
Well, you probably know this, but something to do a test sprayout on helps me before i commit to the job. That way I can get everything set first.
Mike, two things, reduce it an extra 10%. Then play with your air pressure a bit. Higher air pressure means more material coming out of your gun though, be careful. We don't want runs here.Ohhh,...all you have to do is look at my trash can. It's my test panel. I trigger the gun for like a 2 count and see what the pattern looks like. But that's the end of testing, and then it's on from there.
I just don't understand,....how I could get this kinda finish..one day.

And do this the next..

Many reasons to hate painting wheels.
You need to spray with a "limp wrist", so to speak. Meaning you will have to turn the gun the entire time you paint it. You have to follow the surface even distance the entire perimeter. Go a little light on the first coat to get an idea how it lays out. I did this with the rest of your car. The first coat is always the learning coat when painting, then you make adjustments in the following layers.
You don't have to spray in an entire circle all at once, spray one third, adjust your body around the wheel, spray another third, adjust and finish it off. Don't make it out to be more than it is. Monkey with a paint gun Mike, monkey with a paint gun. Here's a visual for you, madmonkey1157![]()
Who gives a red rat's bunionhole (correct spelling @stykthyn ?) about overspray at this point? It's all about "triggered" air pressure with me Dave. When you pull the trigger on the gun and get an Idea of how much pressure is flowing out of the gun,.......How much is not enough, and how much is too much.
Most of the time I'm spraying at like 35 p.s.i. flowing....less than that is like spraying mudlet,...more than that is overspray.
Notice how I liked Todd's post there Mike.
What do you suppose I meant by that?
Who gives a red rat's bunionhole (correct spelling @stykthyn ?) about overspray at this point?
If 35psi is atomizing properly, then shoot it there. Like I was saying though, go light on the first coat, see how it lays out. If it's too orange peely, go a little (emphasis on little) slower in the stroke with the gun. If it looks glassy smooth on the first coat, speed up. It shouldn't be glassy smooth on the first coat, that's too much material. When it flows at that stage, the flow is a run.
Look, I already hate you because of that four wheeling in Hawaii thing......Dave likes To-oodd, Dave likes To-oodd.....
I noticed it rained ever day I was there, you mean you've gone without for a day or two?Excuse me?......You're asking stykthyn for correct spelling on a word that I coined?

As defined by Mikesters Dictionary:
