I'm not even going to try and guess because I am still trying to figure out where I missed the throttle bodies coming back from the dead.

Early April fool's joke?

Joe
I’m still on the fence on the whole thing actually. I figured that I have walked all this way, made an iron lung to address the lack of a common plenum, fabricated those cute little black manifold-lets, ported the piss out of the head, bought the throttle bodies, & the new throttle shaft ( and is a bad moth—er....... )

I figure I may as well see it through to the end.

Can you dig it?

I'm glad you're going with them Mike. Beyond the engineering of them in itself, they're beautiful. Aestheticly wise, they bring a certain 'Yeah they were a btch, but I overcame the problem' attitude to the engine bay.

I'm glad you're finishing them.

Hmmmm...for exhaust runner 6 and 4 to fitting clearance?

Well, porta-powering it out is how normal heathens like me and everyone elses army does it. But it is not to be so for you.

.....Hazlo dos veces, Michael

Add some extra 1/8" steel lazer, water or plasma profile cut thickness from a mild steel.

They can run the program in solid Works at 4.08" centers with the right degree bolt pitches, and have you out a jail for some money.

Sabes que quieres Michael

Crap, now I gotta find a 'down under' spanish translater!
It's called Google.

He's calling me " do it twice Mike" , and telling me that to fix the problem, that " I know I want to".

You're a kill Dean. Just Some engineer type living an entire day in my future, who pays attention to everything I write/ say/do ( and actually links me back to the crap I've said or done in my own thread) And now giving me advice in Spanish.
I told my wife that I almost wish you lived here so I could go have a beer with you, but I'm sure my brain would blow out of my head from input overload after having done so.

I am VERY familiar with google, it helps me to appear smarter than I really am, and helps keep me from being torched by the spelling policeman  'cept when it comes to investigating phrases from xecute, it has locked up on me several times
and yes, your head will explode, but having a beer (or doing anything with a petrol head from down under) will be the most fun you will have in a lifetime. Just be aware that you may blow beer out your nose at any moment!

OK.............

That rear header that has tubes 4,5,& 6 in one group was compressing the hell out of those water fittings. On a lark, I loosened it from the head this morning to see how far id have to space it off to get clearance. As I loosened the header bolts, it pushed itself off of the head.

It looks like I'd have to space it 1/4" to get the most minimal air gap.

I had a small piece of aluminum to confirm the required gap. I tightened the header against it, and there still appears to be maybe 1/16" between the tube and the fitting. Clearly I had binding going on, my down pipe transition popped off when I loosened the v band clamps as well.
Ironically, with that little piece wedged in there, the piece that goes on top that ties the two headers together lines up, and fits way better than it did.

So,..gee. I get to drill three big holes in a piece of aluminum plate, and use a jig saw to cut out the world's thickest header gasket today.....

CnC....plasma/water jet/ laser cut. PFFFT....I don’t need em.
I cut the existing header flange out of 1/2" plate with the same tools...aluminium should be a cake walk.

Firstly, he's not Australian. He lives in New Zealand. Completely different place,.. With hundreds of miles of ocean In between.

I took your advice,...I wrapped the two offending tubes as well..problem is, I used the old stuff that used to be on my down pipe. It looks like an ass sandwich.

The #6 tube had a pretty decent dent in it as a result of getting smashed against the water fitting. Now I don't know if I'll get enough clearance to wrap the tube, or whether it'll end up being jammed against the fitting again because of that. And whether it'd be better to leave it making contact after being wrapped, or better to have an actual air gap in between.

I'm raising my hand with a question.

Could you just extend the line from under to the T higher up the block toward the exhaust ports. The have the fitting on the left...tube 6 come out on top or to the right? Seems there is more of a gap higher up the block you go. Of course, I don't have a 3d monitor and can't tell and I'm not on the bottom of the earth looking up at it with a completely different perspective.

I found Paint.

The Australian posted about 1800 words of motivation that got him back on track. The pictures I looked at in his post were pretty cool.
Jeez, its always the Australian that gets you to do things... I guess I need to work on my presentation!

Gday mate! Buen trabajo, seguid asi, Toodle-oo!

But if people dont know the difference, then I'm a failure.

Maybee I got Mike Todo what he always was gonna anyway....

The difference between a New Zealander and an Australian?

New Zealand exists in law by two New South Wales acts. It joined the Empire as the result of the Act of State by which it was added to New South Wales in 1839 The New South Wales Govenment Act. So Kiwis are effectively Okers, Strines or Cobbers anyway.

To celebate it, we removed a couple of stars from the Flag....

Somehow I think that that was that bands only song. And,.....if they haven't all went into hiding because of that vid, I'm sure they've at least all changed their identities, and moved out of that business.
Probably, out of the country. Probably off of the planet.

No, not really. There isn't as much room under the header there, and besides..that center trunk line would have to run beneath tube 4 for the vertical run, and that tube tucks under the block tight as it is. I think the spacer fixed the problem anyway.

Yup, all three

In hiding and Out of the Country: Phil Judd got SplitEnz famous, then fell into web "infamy" after a brief experience with an Australian Rubber Room.

Of course, I say he's innocent, and will declare that till my dying days....

Changed Identities and out of the country: Wayne Stevens ---->> Bones Hillman was with Mid Night Oil but has recently been supprting basist with Sheryl Crow, and you'll find 'em in Nashville.

The others fronted pivotal other Kiwi and Aussie bands.

An Ahe -Daptor kit.

Johnny Cash said:
The transmission was a fifty three
And the motor turned out to be a seventy three
And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone.
So we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little bit of help with an adapter kit.

One piece at a time....Johnny Cash
