I checked out the Wunderground site this morning. Memphis humidity was 95%! I said that's probably not right. I checked my gauge outside and it's right at 90%. Feels like you could swim without a pool. I've live here all but 2 of my 47 years and I still can't stand it.
I'd like to see how your wall turns out. I am thinking of doing a similar treatment to my patio ceiling...or maybe some cheap metal tiles.

No,...the wall isn't finished,...but it will be today.( I ran out of glue)
Despite the obvious, I chose to take the Monster to that cruise-in. And promptly got rained on.
Lets examine how that was/is a potential problem shall we?....
1. I have holes in my hood right in front of, and directly over the turbo, and it's glowingly hot down pipe.
2. I have an air filter in the wheel well, immediately in the path of water spray coming off of the left front tire.
So,....Got the picture? See why I may have reason for concern?
I started back before it started to rain, and actually got 90% of the way home before it started, but that last 10%..............
Tight sphincter time.
All the way through the rain, I'm wondering if the filter is water logging, and thinking that the engine has got to be ingesting water through the turbo......but it ran exactly the same, despite hitting several of those "bloosh puddles" that makes the car steer when the tire hits it. I tried to ride out of the groove, so that I'd be on higher ground to keep the tires in a "drier" path.
Couple that to the fact that I have no outside fresh air source, and that I still have an uncharged air conditioning system. Add to that that my wipers are not clocked correctly, and that they only sweep to about the 12-O clock position, multiply that with my poorly aimed headlights, that are pointing about 10' in front of the road in front of me, the windshield is fogging up, and it's hot in the car,.....and I can't see crap.
And now maybe you'll understand why my steering wheel is crushed where my hands were holding it last night.
When I built the car, It was "the plan" that I'd make magnetic covers to attach to the back side of the forward facing scoops to stop the water from entering, and I plated the one "vent" on the back side of the hood that was over the down pipe.
I never got around to making them.
I never considered the fact that I was dangling a conical air filter in a direct path for water spray either.
I wonder if I do like you're supposed too,...and spray the filter w/ an oil base to augment it's cleaning ability if that oil will make the filter water resistant? I still have no intentions of driving the thing in the rain if I can help it, but having that coating has got to be a good thing.
Ultimately, I need to build a shield to prevent water from even touching the thing, and that is what will probably happen,...but I gotta get everything else done around here first.
I did find out that my old red car is out there though, and people that I talked to confirmed that he drives the thing to these cruise-ins,..but he wasn't there last night.
(Probably because he wasn't stupid enough to take a car out when the sky looked like it might open up at any minute).
Obviously, I got home,....the engine idled perfectly when I pulled it into the stupid 2 car garage where it is still temporarily housed...
I wiped it down,...dabbed the water off of the intake manifold where the one scoop had been allowing it in,...and went back into the house..
Oh,...and I made the wife move closest to the wall.

Maybe you should back in on her side, put the PS of your car against the wall. Then she will have more room to maybe not hit your car with her door???
That's a great 'aerial' shot of the Monster. Maybe you should get some Fog X and coat the inside of the windows. I had an old 70 Chevy SWB PU once that didn't have a/c. It too fogged like San Francisco at the slightest mention of rain. I used Fog X and it worked great. It occasionally fogged up but I bet it took care of 90% of it.

Do what I do.....nothing at all! Actually I did some work on mine for the first time in years. I'll have to post over there my adventures and mental tribulations trying to mount one of those stupid tiny Odyssey batteries. You would think a battery 1/3 the weight and 1/2 the size would be easy...not for me!
I fixed NOTHING on the Monster,.....(I've got no time to do anything to the car)
Every spare moment is spent on the garage,...aka the Laboratory.
The wall in the front den is done,... it turned out great.
(you'll have to settle for crappy cell phone pics,..I'm drinkin' and I don't care).
Every spare moment, I'm working the lab.... All of the drop light pedestals are made and rough wired. I figure I got about 3 more days worth of work down there before i can reveal that room.
It won't be painted...and it'll still need some finish details,..but the Monster should be there....Thinkin' Sunday evening maybe.
I can't believe how lucky we are.
This house is everything I could want......... I walk around here, and almost daily tell anybody w/i earshot that I love this house. And typically there's nobody here to hear that except the wife or the dogs..
Too bad you all live so far away,..there's gonna be a big assed "mike's 60" party here in November, followed by a big assed Christmas party in December.......You'd all be invited!............(well,....all except the flat billed wearin' don't know the difference between a 68 and a 70 Mustang sht bag, and that trouble making, donut making MF'r, they would DEFINITELY NOT BE INVITED),........But everybody else could come.
It will be Yuge!
My knees should be all Robocop and sht by that time,...I should be back at work, The Monster should be waiting on his next evolution.....thinkin' gauges.... It'll be soo cool.

I would really prefer to be working on the monster.
I really would prefer to get the tune right so that I can safely run 10 p.s.i., instead of the mediocre 7 p.s.i that I have been accustomed to.
I would really prefer to take off the dash top to see what the hell the noise is that sounds like a loose electrical connection arching because of it.
But,...The Monster needs his house. I need to get it out of door dent central...
That means he needed a space.But it needed some work.
This is what I started with.
Plumbing hanging down below 8' ceiling height,..raggedy insulation threatening to drop a whole bunch of "what th' hells' this sht's?" into future paint work,...all with a minimal budget to cover it up with..
Budget?....
This only costs 30 bucks...

To which I'd ask..."Really?....You're questioning whether or not I can make something work that might be a little "unorthadox"?

Believe me when I tell you that this was a btch from hell. To get the eyes to stretch evenly, I had to drill a hole 7" down from the top, in a cement block wall w/ varying distances from each other.
And the stretch I needed required I revisit me pirate sailor knot trainin' from me olden days....
So,..it works....for now.
It's about 7.5'.....soft. If a cherry picker happens to bump into it,..it'll push it up to about 8'.
It'll keep the heat from rising, and the cool from being wasted into a wasted space. If something goes wrong above, It's a simple loosening of some knots and the thing drops....
I'm considering this a success.
I still have some hanging and organizing to do to even have a prayer of getting some semblance of order in there,...but it's getting there.
