Progress Thread 1985 GT 5.0 Mustang Restoration/Bringing my dad's old car back to life

The only time to upgrade to 5 lugs is when you go for bigger brakes. Then you have to. 10 holes are cool; so are the pony 5 spokes. Turbines on a 4Eye is something I’d have to see first.

Here you go. Not a great angle, but this was my first one many years ago before I went to the ROH’s

The plastic pieces inside the quarter panels are different also and don't fit as well unless you change out the quarter windows to the later style. It destroys the character of the car to make it look like a later model. Just my opinion, I appreciate them all but 4-eyed foxen have always been my favorites.

Ok.... So will a 83 hood fit using a 85-86 front end?
It's been a long time but I believe that the 79-86 hoods will fit the 85/86 nose.

I always like the 83 hoods with the bump cowl in them and vaguely recall considering putting one on the 86 to clear the Kenne Bell.

I ended up going 2.5" inducted cowl instead.

| Alright, I have decided that eventually, I am going to go for 5 lugs for big disks in the back. But after I get it running well.
