I need some new injectors for my car, and I'm thinking about going to 24# injectors, mostly for future mods and expandability. I would get the mass air meter with the injectors that is calibrated to the 24# injectors. First off, if nothing else is modded, upgrading to 24# vs. the stock 19# will dump more fuel into the engine, correct? In other words, the EEC doesn't see that they are 24# injectors instead of 19# and compensate for that fact, right? If this is true, does anyone know what kind of a gas mileage drop I should expect? I'm getting around 27mpg on the highway and 18-19 city right now (no complaining here about those numbers ). Also, will I need to replace anything else other than the MAF meter? Thanks guys

upgrading to 24 pounds isnt gonna help you at all being stock nor is it gonna help your period with that stock none adjustable FPR (it will only let enough fuel through for 19lbs injectors)being stock for now man i would save you $$$ and get a FPR and you should see some difference prob wont be anything though.

My injectors now are on their way out (134k on the engine, still goin strong otherwise), so I'm kinda looking at buying some very soon. Will it do anything detrimental to my car if I buy the 24#'s now and put them on? I have equal length headers, cold air, and underdrives now (nothing major basically), but I plan on getting an intake (GT-40 probably), throttle body and spacer, and MAF this summer, and maybe a little more. I've been looking around, and I can get 24# injectors and a MAF calibrated at 24# for just a little more than regular 19# injectors. Is it not a good idea to get 24#'s just cuz I can't use them right now, or is there something that can be actually detrimental with using them? Thanks for the input guys.

how do you know they are going out? my 19 lbers were just replaced yesterday with 24's. they had 171k on them. you could run them, the car will run rich so if you get a afpr and roll back the pressure you might be ok.

They seem to be going out from what I can tell. They are starting to make a lot more noise than they were and a lot more noise than any other of my friends' Mustangs. I could be wrong, but it also feels down a bit on power. With this seemingly lost power and the abnormally loud injector tap, I figured it was the injectors. Does this sound plausible, or way off?
