i'm just double checking cuz i'm gonna order them this week. on ebay there are nitto NT555 for $445 with $68 shipping. is that a good price? or is there a better tire i should look for? thanks

Check tirerack or discount tire cuz they also have credit plans so you dont have to plunk down $500 at once. Is it a DD? Do you drive much in the rain or bad weather? if so I would say look at something a little more high performance all season.

255/4017's suck on SN95's, & they suck on 17x8's. They're too short, so the car looks like a lifted 4x4. They physically fit on the 8" wheel, but they're a pretty tight stuff on there, & they track & feel poor. The only time I like a 255/4017 on a Mustang is on a 9" wheel on a Fox body.

I know it's boring, but the OE 245/45 is the best fit on the 8" wheel. Or you could do 255/45, that was stock on the 94-95 Cobras, they're a little wider & taller than the stock 96-01 245/45's.

I pretty much drive the car whenever i can. my current tires... Kumho ecsta supras are the worst. I have barely had them a year if that and the rear are just about bald. what tire do you guys recommend then for rain and good traction. i'm gettin 4.10's soon too so i dont wanna ruin the ones too quick. and is it cheaper to just buy them on tire rack or ebay? either way u gotta go get them balanced and aligned right and that's about $100 anyway...? and i should just stick with 245? i just thought 255 would make it look meaner but its not too big of a size difference.

I buy from Tire Rack or Discount Tire (www.tires.com) depending on what I'm getting.

Tire Rack will have shops near you that will accept UPS shipment of your tires for you to have them installed by them.

An alignment is a good idea with new tires, but not required.

I bought Continental ContiSport Contact II's from the Rack for my Cobra; for my SHO I went with BFG G-Force TA's from Discount. I love the Conti's, zero complaints. The BFG's are acceptable for the price, but I had to try out six tires to get four round ones.

The Conti's:

I'll check it out then... See i'm in a predicament. I just took out the loan to pay off the current on the car.. just dropped it off to get my rocker panel and door fixed for like $2400.. but i'm having them do the clutch i ordered so we'll see how much more the price goes up. but the guy told me he'd put on some more stuff for me so i went a little crazy yesterday and today and ordered a bunch as you can see in the sig... how much u think it'll cost total 4 tires on and balanced?? i hope i have enough $$ left over ha.. this won't be good.

did i read that right?

MT et street radials are $186 each at summit (+$18 s/h). Although they are on backorder right now.. So i went with the BFG T/a KDW $165/tire. Seems like most people ive talked to say Nittos arent very good, although they last longer. so for a daily driver might be a good idea. The MTs and BFG dont last as long but hook up real well. these are 275x45x17 btw
