I am considering installing a set of FRPP 4.10 gears by myself, with the help of a former mechanic, due to the insane labor costs around here. I was wondering if anyone else on these forums have done it, and how long it took them, and mabye things to watch for, etc. My mechanic friend has done many gear swaps in older muscle cars, and he is very knowledgeble of risks, tuning, and all factors of gear swaps - in general. He does not know Fords that well (Chevy's were the thing in the past), especially not this newer Mustang (although I realize its body design isnt all that new). He mentioned of a problem accessing some bolts on the casing was a possibility, but he was just contemplating. We wont have a lift but a bunch of jacks. I was wondering if anyone here could help us with some info?

Thanks,
Falcon

Um, I dunno if you got the cash bring it to a place thats done if before. But if you want him to give it shot, jack it up before hand and see if he/you can reach all the bolts. I dunno I hears it's not easy and doin it on jack stands?
my 2 cents

dude unless this guy has all the equipment ur probably better of at a shopi spent like 200 bucks on all the tools and stuff i needed to do them at home. i could of added another 50 bucks to have them done at a shop. it took me about 5 days to do it in my garage, and thats including all the reserch i had to do.
