I've got a 2001 5-speed gt with 4:10's and i'm gonna buy some drag radials for it and i'm worried that it's gonna break something so i'm just wondering if i should worry or not

MikeZ28 said:it's the axles that are the weak point in our cars. the 8.8 is a very good rear end for a modern muscle car. just think we could drive camaros with a 7.5 inch
all you need is a 31 spline axle and carrier setup. then your all set. a better limited slip would'nt hurt either.
VividDreams said:what about just getting stronger 28 spline axles like the ones from Auburn Gear? stronger than stock and can still use your stock diff. just not as strong as 31 spline... thoughts?
Popping the clutch at high RPM slams the axles. Autos are easier on the axles due to the slipping of the tranny.joshheat25 said:also what about an Auto?? Are people breaking their axles because of launching at such a high rpm?
silvrgt said:you have to get a new differential with 31 spline axles. the stock differential is only 28 spline. simply.. 4.10s+5 speed+drag radials = broken rear.
