My plan is to get to a vortech kit next summer and hit 400 rwhp. i talked to the local mustang shop and they said with a non intercooled vortech i could hit 330rwhp. then get an alchol kit and get around 380. what kit should i get to hit my goal? it seems like almost everyone here with vortechs has 400rwhp. how are you guys doing it?

Autos dont make the power a manual does. I learned you can't really look at dyno numbers but at track times especialy with an auto. It depends on the dyno too a Mustang dyno will show lower numbers than a dynojet will.

When I put my blower on with 4.10 gears, Catback, and O/R midpie the car only put down 290rwhp BUT ran 12.8s @ 109-110 mph. Now the car puts down 500ish rwhp and runs 11.6s. I would stay away from methanol kits and get something thats there all the time and you dont have to worry about filling up all the time. I would look into an intercooler (I did a Paxton A/A) to lower the temps plus you can run more boost and timing do to lower IATs.

Blower Cams and Longtubes definitely help alot. Letting the Engine breath even better would let you make in the 400 hp range easily. I be happy just with a SC for my car..

Intercooler=cooler IAT= safer to advance timing= more power

You could also run a smaller pulley/power pipe to increase boost. 10-12lbs is usually the max these motors can handle safely.
