A guy at work has an '03 Cobra, and he insists that he has 411's in the rear.
Aren't 411's a GM gear size?? Would they even fit?
I said to him, are you sure they're not 410's and he said yes.
He also claims to run low 10's on street tires, I call BS on that one.
Oh, and he has a KB supercharger on it too.
That I believe, but what about the gears??

I know ford makes 4.11's for 9" rear-ends, but I'm pretty sure they don't make them for ours. I could be wrong though. As for low 10's on street tires, I'd say there's a good chance that the car makes enough power, but on street tires I couldn't see it getting good enough traction to run those times.

It's a 4.10 gear. Buy Ford Motorsport gears. Stay away from cheaper off brande crap.

It may have a 9" rear. Its very unlikely that the guy will run 10's on street tires.

Exactly. I meant to include that and forgot. If he decided to beef up his rear-end, he may have decided to go ahead and swap out for a 9" while he was at it. I don't know though. Those '03 cobra rear-ends seem to be able to handle pretty good power in stock form.

His rear is stock except for the gear swap. He claims he has 610hp at the wheels, with no internal mods.
Anyway, I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but IF he had 410's in the rear, what would he top out at in 4th gear with the Cobra's 6 speed tranny??
He claims to go thru the traps at 140mph @ 5300rpm in 4th. That seems high. Given what he claims, top speed would be about 155 at the top of 4th. I don't think so. Not with 410's anyway.
The only reason I argue with him is because he won't run me, even when I have ONLY 410rwhp.
He is known as a bullsheeter at work.
Any comments would be appreciated guys, give me something to throw back at this guy.

He would have to have 4.10's. If they make 4.11's for the 8.8", I can't find them on any web sites. That being said, with a KB he could easily make over 600rwhp. There is a guy with one around here that is making 612rwhp with a pulley swap and a whipple blower. They don't need internal mods because they come with forged internals stock. Those trap speeds do seem a little high for 4.10's in 4th though.

That trap is way high, unless he was making that power through an auto - which he's not. So, imo, he's full of it

This is the first time I've ever heard someone say that...
They are ok for stock and maybe a small pulley chg, but more than that and you'd better think about upgrading half shafts or going to a solid axle.

That's right, the IRS is a weak-point sometimes. I totally forgot that they had IRS. Brain fart..

With stock 99-04 V6/GT 3.27s 140MPH in 4th is around 5800RPMS.

With 4.10s 110MPH is 6000RPM.

3.73s= 120MPH in 4th @6K.

That guy is full of it. Ask him which way is it? Does he have 4.10s or does he do 5300RPM in 4th @ 140MPH. If the latter he has more like 3.10s LOL.

I agree wholeheartedly... I have 373's and if I push it with the blower I might hit 125 at the top of 4th.
He has the Cobra tranny, I forget what it's called, and it's probably geared a little different then our GT's, but not by that much... he be full of crap.

Fourth gear ratio is 1.00 in the T5, T45, 3650 and T56 (as well as 3rd being 1.00 in the AOD, AODE and 4r70w) so that shouldn't make a difference.

Those gears aren't s/c friendly in an 03 Cobra. There would be some serious issues....

Sounds like a good idea, I will.
Where abouts are you in NJ?
I'm up in the northwest, got most of my work done at Crazy Horse Racing in South Amboy, about a 35 mile drive.
