5.0 Intake manifolds that clear stock STB?

Hi, I'm new here, I recently bought a 5.0 '94 vert, my first Ford ever.

Engine-wise it's fairly stock; bolt-on mods (by previous owner) are:
BBK 70mm TB,
K&N air-filter element with "cut-out" housing,
MSD coil and FRPP wires,
BBK catted H with flows (2.5")

Which aftermarket idle-5500 rpm intakes will clear the stock 94-95 tower brace? Will a trick-flow street heat clear it?

Also, I have a D&D k-member with coilovers... will a wider shoice of LT headers (such as those designed for Fox 302's) now fit?

Not sure I want to spend on heads just yet... also, I don't want to go to lower gears, love the low highway revs.

i don't think much of anything will fit under that STB. You can get a BBK strut tower brace for like $100 now and that clears just about everything. and you don't NEED to run a STB either, i didn't have one for years.

Whats the matter with 94-95 long tubes?

Thank you ProKiller. I love this site... since I bought my car (and even before) I've been lurking.

Any recommendations on intake manifolds for street driving on the stock E7TE's, yeah I know, Search is my friend.

Only reason I was asking about fox-header fit was that this allows me to broaden my choice when looking for used LT's...

Fox long tubes won't fit unless you want to switch to a Fox bell housing and input shaft. Why keep a strut tower brace? It's basically for looks now that you have the k-member. Get some subframe connectors if you worry about chassis rigidity.

IF you are planning a build on your car, I would go with subframe connectors first (since the car is a vert). But in answer to your questions. +1 for above. If you lived close by Id sell you my old chromer cheap...not worth the shipping cost.

This isn't true at all. Most aftermarket k-members flex more than the stock piece. With no STB or SFC's and a tubular k-member I was afraid to push my car hard in corners. SFC's made a huge difference. I really want to put a STB back on it, but I've been too cheap to buy one.

Welcome to :SNSign: Carzzi. The Edelbrock Performer intake is a popular choice for mostly stock engines. You could also look into a GT40 or Cobra Intake. I think they're all pretty close performance wise. Or you could port your stock intake which will get to you close to the performance of the aftermarket intakes.

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions!

BTW, the first thing I did the week I bought the car was have full-length MM subframe connectors welded in. My, what a positive difference they have on body stiffness.

But the interior still rattles (all the stuff that had loosened before the connectors were put in )

Glad it improved. There are things we can do to make things better, but keep in mind that the cars ARE 13-14 years old, so there will always be "some" little things going on unless you replace every single nut and bolt.

Hey Rob what chrome peice are you talking about? And if I where you I would get a GT40 or Cobra Intake and have that ported and you will be beyond most after market intakes.

really? ive heard fox LT's work just fine except for not having an EGR bung
