I need some help setting up the oil dipstick, does anyone have a picture of where to drill the hole? Thanks Nick.

PS-The engine is a 94 5.0 that i have converted to carb for now i plan on using the serpentine system as well so i dont know if that affects the area in which i need to drill the whole

The hole you have to drill is on the left side facing the motor. You will see a flat casting spot between the 2 lower timing cover bolts. I just drilled mine with a 11/32 bit. Make sure the angle is right or you will come through the front part of the cover. I would send a pic but have not figured how to yet.If you want PM me with your email and I will send one.

65inworks, I was in the same boat as you. I also switched to v-belt as I am only using the water pump and alternator so there is no need for a large serpentine system. I put an early model timing chain cover which already has the dipstick hole in it.

Do you plan on keeping the 50oz balancing? If so, you will neeed a new balancer to accept the 3-bolt crank pulley.

exactly what I did for my 5.0. You would have to keep the 50oz balancing. Which means he does need a new balancer to accept the 3-bolt crank pulley
