Hey guys, i have a pretty heavily modified mustang and the rear end that it comes with is a strange 33" spline with a spool. Now i was thinking about buying the cobra front brake conversion from Mustang Parts Specialist because the previous owner decided to leave the stock brakes and just upgrade the rotors. My main question is, is it worth it to get this kit and spend the money and get a new rear end. Im a college student and kinda hard up money. Thanks guys.

I used Ford's 2300k kit, and the brakes are REALLY nice. It uses the same setup as the brakes your looking at uses. My kit cost $2300, but it came with EVERYTHING you need to make the switch, including instructions. The kit you are looking at is forgetting the booster and MC, one of the MAIN upgrades.
As for having to buy a new rear end, you won't have to, probably have to order a different spline though.

I have the M-2300-K kit too although I paid $1800 Delivered and it has made my car feel completely different, awesome upgrade! The car should have come from the Factory with those brakes!

Pretty much any Fox car, stock or not needs better brakes. Remember though, that you need new wheels to go five lug. If cash is tight, for now I would just upgrade the front calipers to 73mm units. You can get them at parts stores for around $25 a piece. In the future, when money allows, I would deff. upgrade the brakes. It has been the best mod I have made to my Fox.

Just leave your rear end as it is. You'll have to sell your current axle and buy 31-spline axles for a 94-98 Mustang.

The 2300-K kit is expensive, but you can peice it together for cheaper.

The kit costs $1800, i put mine together for under $700

You would need aftermarket axles to match 31 spline, but you could easily sell the ones from the kit. The nice thing about the kit is everything is there and everything is brand new and you dont have to hunt for anything!

I thought you said you already had 31 spline axles in your Mustang right now with a spool?
