As suggested I am starting a thread on my build. Let me start with a quick rundown.
62 Falcon 2dr with the Deluxe trim. It was born in San Jose with a 144/Fordomatic, and lived all it life in So Cal. My Son bought it for his High School transportation and we went through it to make it a driver. He drove it into his 20s until his living situation changed and he asked if I would store it for him. I said I'd rather buy it from him than store it. He accepted my offer and the work soon began. He had done little more than feed it during the time he owned it and it showed. It has been a steady improvement project from the first week. Trans planted 250/C4 which led to an 8" rear end. I did bodywork and paint, rebuilt the 250, then decided on the Mustang II front end. The 250 doesn't leave enough room for AC so that justified a 5.0. EFI and an overdrive trans for best economy and ease of driving. So here I am today with a freshened up non HO 5.0 on the engine stand waiting for a stock HO cam so I can test fire it before I put it in the car. I've been lurking here for a while and have most of the anticipated bugs worked out. I'll figure out how to get some pics up and go from there.

Those 2dr Falcons are cool, especially when modded.
Definitely post some pics.

In high school I had a buddy with a new ‘63 Falcon Sprint with the 260 V8. It was a fun little car. The 5.0 should make it really fun!

Were the Crown Vic and Town Car engines HO as well? The one I saw the intake faced the other way toward the driver side, and it was a non HO with speed density EFI. I believe it was also an '88.

The Crown Vic is non HO but it is a roller. Lower compression dished pistons. I don't know what other differences there are. In stock form it's rated at 150hp. I'm not building it to race so I really don't care that it won't make a lot of power heck the original 60hp 144 did just fine. When it does come time I'll build a GT40 out of an Explorer or because it doesn't have shock towers anymore I can go with a 4.6 4v.

Is it the 62 Falcon that was a one tear only car that's hard to find parts for?

60-63 are very similar. There is some trim and roofline model differences.

JD08 I've never had a problem finding parts, it's finding parts I can afford that is the issue.

Same lower intake, similar upper as the HO with a smaller throttle body opening. Smaller heads, standard firing order (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8) cam, smaller injectors (14lb., I think?), 2" exhaust. Built more for smooth cruising and fuel economy than anything else. Great torque, though. Same torque rating as the HO, but comes on 1000 RPM sooner. Falls on its face after that, of course.

My '90 Grand Marquis is plenty quick off the line. Should be a fairly quick engine in that tiny Falcon. Beautiful car!

Scored a stock HO cam today at pick your part $32 and the motor was mostly stripped already it only took 20 minutes to have it out. I think I'll buy a lottery ticket.

That compressor mount sticks out a long ways. Does it fit in the Falcon?

As mentioned I have a MustangII front end in it and the shock towers are gone. There is lots of room. The bracket came from an explorer I cut the upper half for the steering pump off. The fixed idler and 1 wire alternator is for a GM LS I hope it doesn't give my engine any cooties. Oops the picture shows the Ford alt.

That ac bracket would give me the hebegeebees or at least a WTF reaction all hang'n out in mid air like that.
You couldn't use a fox bracket to bring it in closer to the engine?
I'm not criticizing, but it does look odd.
