Is there an easy way to tell if a bumper is original or aftermarket? I bought a pair of advertised original bumpers and cant tell if the front is original or not. The rear clearly has the date code above the license plate. I cannot find the date code on the front bumper. The shape and edges of the bumper look very crisp. I noticed on the sides where the small fender brackets mount to the bumper it looks like the edge of the bumper is shaped around the holes. On an aftermarket bumper these are always straight. Please chime in quickly before I have it rechromed. Thanks.

Aftermarket are slightly thinner metal possibly with no or minimum copper layer. Rechromed OE, with a thicker layer of copper will last longer and adding more nickel improves shine. But must have no rust holes, bends etc otherwise chromeplating cost will jump to heaven
