Long story short, it's a Dodge Dakota, it has absolutely no monetary worth. It's in terrible shape-I am 31. My Dad gave it to me when I was 16. I no longer have my Dad,but I still have that truck

I swear this is the last derail I'll do on this thread for as long as I can lol

So you etched the door, primed the door, and then took it back down to metal for Bondo?

Yes sir. I etched first because it was a hunk of bare steel just dying to rust. Then I primered it to get a good idea of every single dent in it. I found these through blocking the door down with 220.

Once I found all of the dents, I pushed most of them out so I could use a light glaze coat to finish them off.

Then, to provide proper bonding for the mud without the varying adhesion problems of mudding over various substrates, I stripped the primer completely off in those area and laid the mud out.

There's the mud on the bottom of the door, I know it looks like a lot, but it's not. It's a very thin coat. And boy is it straight now! No ripples, no nothing!

I still have to put a little glaze across the top of the door where I welded up the trim holes.

Almost ready for primer, not today though. The yard owner will be up with Robby today, so it's time to go fetch more parts.

I thought you were trying to get the whole car when last we tuned in,......( the day you wept). Now you're doing a remote paint job on the car instead? One piece at a time?
You better go get the whole car, before you get too far along and find that the yard owner can't find the title...

First off, if you really had read my earlier points, which is in doubt at this moment, you'll recall I said it would be the middle of this month before I could get it.

I'm just trying to get stuff done now that I can so the rehabilitation process will be quicker.

Secondly, again had you REALLY read my earlier comments, you would know I already have to do a title search on it. He knows he had it fifteen years ago, he's just not sure where it is now. The yard isn't a business for him, he's a little lax in record keeping.

Not sure how your state works but some states after sooo many years without being registered, they will purge it from the system.

Hopefully I'll have a picture of it without fenders, hood and carburetor today. Kind of torn down.

The whole change the title thing is just to say what I've done lately on that thread. should I stop?

Seperate threads for me are like conversations, there was the thread that I found the blue car, then there's this thread where I'll make it run, and I was thinking of a build thread once the red car is finished.
