I do like it. I understand it’s not particularly a popular color. I rarely paint it at work. If it was popular I’d be shooting it all the time.

That’s ok though, it is one of those odd colors that is striking to me.

I’m hesitant about shooting my hood the color. I’m thinking about getting a new hood for Doby. I want to have clearance for the new engine, maybe a cervini with a 1.5” scoop?

Or maybe I could put a hole in the original that can be covered by the original hood scoop? That’s more of the way that I’m leaning. If that’s the case, then I need to get measurements. That’ll be awhile though. Just thinking out loud.

What color do you find yourself shooting all the time these days?

Regarding the hood, a 1.5" cowl would be a nice, subtle change in clearance. I've seen at least one four-eye car with a 1.5 cowl that had the factory "GT" hood lettering and stripe done on it. You almost didn't notice the increased height of the aftermarket hood.

Id say just the opposite. Body color bay, gunmetal engine, accessories, etc. Similar to the red TTop that Terry guy did a few years ago. Simple and clean.

I like green. It seems the uglier the color the better it works. Green wasn't my first or even my 5th color choice but I took a chance and it's usually the first thing people comment on about my car.

Well John, disregarding whites, blacks and silvers, it would be varying shades of red with a slightly darker version of the red I put on the first Doby being the most popular. Blues come in second with greys at about equal amount.

Green engine bay, grey engine.......maybe a stallion with a cobra coming out of it’s mouth for the hood jamb.

I could name it ‘Mucus’? That sounds about right. Ok, forget ‘Doby’, the car will now be ‘Mucus’.
