Good, sort of, lol. In a sucky sort of way.

I was worried about it being a urethane and you don’t have a coat of etch down first.

Alright! Back at it. Still not happy about the whole thing but it was for the best. I don’t think I would have stripped the back if this hadn’t happened. I had some surface rust all under the seam sealer. Working my way through stripping the whole thing back down to metal and I’ll start again. Hoping to
Have it in primer tonight.

Also popped the glass .. oddly easy

Hell of a lot easier to handle that hatch with no glass, isn't it?

Still busy at it. Got the hatch stripped, primed and body worked, finished the final sanding last night.

All that’s left to double check is the hood and the two long ground effects.

I gotta change the timing belt in my daily driver this weekend , so we’ll see if it’s this weekend or not. Very close.

Was able to break away for a couple hours tonight.

The hatch is now done.

The hood is now done.

The two lomg ground effects are now done. Had to heat up and bend the corner on one.

I’m now officially done with each part. Tomorrow starts the process of scrubbing down the garage.

Nothing amazing to report at this time. Got my plastic hung and filtered fans and what not. It pulls the fumes and dust away just fine.

Started on my test panels so I can dial in my gun and get my technique down for the clear coat. Tonight was a disaster at this point. Runs like crazy. Gonna try again tomorrow night. I’ll report back once I have it closer to ready. Probably gonna be messaging Dave for some pointers

Got rained out of work today so had a couple hours to lay some paint on my junk panels. I believe with a little more practice I’ll have a very passable product. This is off the gun .

Took a couple hours and used making paper to really learn my gun. I really leaned what a different distance makes. Gonna sand and paint my spare parts one more time, if all is good. I’ll move onto parts I care about.

There you go Bill.

You've gotta know how your gun shoots, they're all different.

You're doing the exact correct thing there. I can't wait till you start painting the car.

Our talk today about distance really helped. These test I’m doing seem silly to some, but I think it really helps.

One last fresh paint selfie. I know you guys love these.

Took my spare fender and sectioned it off into
3 and my spare door and made 8 sections. Painted each one and got a great lay out with just a little orange peel. Then removed the sections and pained each panel 2 more times to practice on
The larger areas. All turned out great. These poor panels have 15+ layers of paint, but they have served as a great learning tool.

The next thing i paint will be part of the car. Gonna get the garages cleaned back up and start preparing . My main worry at this point is keepikg
Dust out of it, but I plan to polish anyway.

I’ll post the money shot after my last coat of clear. So far just one small bit of trash and just a little dust. Pretty exciting.

And the money shots. Staring just a little dust and one nib. I believe a cut and buff will deal with that nicely.

This was a ton more work than the front . But it’s now black.

Tomorrow I will proudly pull this bad boy outside and all my neighbors will rejoice

Pulled her outside and pulled the plastic off. It’s not bad. I’ll for sure be doing a cut n buff though. But it’s coming along.

Gonna try and do the doors, rear bumper and fuel door tomorrow and maybe get them mounted on Monday.
