hey guys and gals...i was coming home from a comedy club i've never been to in Houston last night when I ended up on a different highway. I noticed my car had just a little over a quater of a tank left when i decided to pull over for some gas since I wasn't familiar with the area. I pushed the supreme button when i went to fill up, but right before I filled up the tank I noticed the price for the 89 octane was lit and the others weren't, so im really not sure what i pumped in my tank. I drove about 50- 60miles home not letting the engine rev over 2k(thought that might help, i dunno). Well anyway I might it home...no noises, no problems. Should I reflash my ecu to the 87 octane tune until my next refill? What happens when you put the wrong octane in your tank?
Thanks for any help!
Steven

Just don't push your engine hard or let it "lug" in gear, as it will probably "ping" like crazy...

You might want to put an 89 octane tune in for the few hundred miles you have left on your tank.

You should be fine.

To be on the safe side, I would definitely go to a lower octane tune until time for your next fill up. Make sure you go as empty as possible. When your car reads 0 to empty, you have 1.6 gallons left.

You'll know if you have a problem, you'll get detenation and ot pinging. If it sounds and runs the same, you should be good to go.
