Well I got the car all but done. As we were bleeding brakes I realized the fittings I bought to eliminate the factory pro portioning valve won't stop leaking. I don't think I can tighten them any more than they are. It's a bit frustrating as noe the system is full of fluid and I've got to disassemble again. Otherwise it appears to be good. Even with the seepage he pedal felt like it should. I have to fix it as obviously it will let air in and cause issues.

Aww man, sorry to hear that. I went through that with my boy's car. I bet we used 3 large cans of brake fluid and bled it 15 times. We had to replace a lot of lines, and to be honest I think we still have a leak somewhere, but I can't find where the fluid is going..

and fwiw, the fittings from the MM kit didn't leak..

So Orielly's hosed me. I didn't realize it at the time but they sold me the correct 1/4 union but a metric adapter instead of the correct 1/4 to 3/16. It screwed in just fine but leaked once you applied pressure. Makes sence now.

So to call LRS tomorrow and see where my plug is and go back with the factory prop valve.

Here is mine, I found you can buy bubble flare at auto zone with the correct fittings for the MC then I just rented the tool to do the double flare on the other end. Mine had a line lock installed so may be different. She's full of fluid and bleed.

Here is some dirty engine bay ****. Wire tuck is mostly done. I'm aware the rest if filthy (that will be addressed soon enough).

I will be putting the prop valve back on unless I can find the right fittings locally (I had no luck at oriellys or autozone) Those are about our only choices other than two odd NAPA stores that really don't have good selections.

Well no dice. It won't be here until Friday. I finally got someone at late model that gave a crap and they were willing to over night another one but it won't go out until tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be attending the mustang mother road events this weekend as I simply can't get it finished in time.

Over all I appreciate this last guys willingness to help but am completely disappointed with the lack of follow up and let down of the last two weeks. I've called every other day and was promised it was going out that day. But it it what it is and I can't fix it now. I'll be lucky to get the car on the ground to attend the show sat but the car will be filthy. I'll have to cancel my alignment appt fri afternoon and get it done after its back from the painter again.

Freaking if it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.

Dang, squeak. Can't you buy a pipe tap, drill it out and pipe plug it?

I just went digging around in the garage to find my old prop valve to measure it and get you a tap size, but I can't find it. Must have chunked it. I'm sorry man. Look at the cap that you remove to pull the guts out. Looking at prints online I'm almost certain you can drill it out and install a small pipe plug like maybe an 1/8"..

I have a tap set and suppose I could put a plug in it this eve. I really am not a fan of that even though I know others have had luck with it (My luck isn't near as good normally).

Latemodel is attempting to get the part sent out this morning in an attempt to get it to me tomorrow morning. That will give me a bit of time (with assistance from my awesome wife) to install and at least bleed the brakes. Then I can do the hillbilly alignment on it so it can be driven to the local show, then to paint on Monday, then once out of paint take it for a real alignment.

I still also have to get the tail pipes welded to the mufflers. I've got one that just won't sit quite right and I can't get it adjusted any better laying on my back 6 inches away from it.

All in all I'm rather excited to drive the car and actually have it stop. The stock booster that came out was so bad it didn't have any resistance at all when you pressed the pedal. The car had no vac assist with the already bad stock fox brakes.

Unfortunately this summer will likely but on jack stand stint after another. I've got the T-5 setup coming this month as well and I'll tear into it sooner than later to get rid of the slush box. Then I can leave the major stuff alone until winter, just in time to pull the motor, do a gt40 setup and paint the engine bay. May even do a Vortec on it for more fun. Also need to actually build the rear. Will do 31 spline, 3.73 gears, moser axles and a new carbon fiber traction lock (Likely just buy a new cobra carrier).

So many plans, to little money.

What Ive learned with my build over the last year (even paying a great shop to do it) it takes time, patience and money. There's always that one key part that just wont show up timely.... Oh and did I mention patience,

But its worth it (well when the top shop's done...... )

Late model has always, always taken great care of me.. hard to imagine them giving you a hard time.. they must have some highschool kid there that dropped the ball on your order or something. IMO they beat the pants off of American Muscle..

Anyhoo, I'm running a factory 28 spline with moser street axles and the clutch went before the diff did, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

The last guy at Late model was great. The other folks were nice, just messed up on the back ground work. The guy last night owned the mistakes and was more than willing to drop ship and overnight the part from another vendor (at their cost).. However, no one else was going to be able to get the part out any quick.

I snapped a stock axle in my 03 Mach only running 12.60's @108/109. It dead hooked on 17 inch mickey t's. The axles I put in the car looked to be about done where the bearing rides so If I need new axles I just a well run a 31 spine and not have to worry about it.

Our n2o PI swapped 98 also had some issues with stock 28 spline stuff. But it Yanks the wheel each pass and cuts 1.50's.

I know lots of folks run 28 stuff just fine but if you've not noticed, my luck is never to be one of those guys. I drive my cars like I stole it and usually find the weak links pretty quick. (I was driving the n2o car and the mach when both rear ends let go lol)

It's always that small piece that is impossible to find and you don't realize you're missing it until time to install. I've built quite a few cars and have learned to order stuff up front, way early. This was part my mistake too as when I cataloged the parts I missed the fact that the plug was gone. Took me 3 weeks to notice (car was in paint). I got 4 separate boxes that day from multiple suppliers (Christmas in May haha), and just overlooked the small plug not being in the mix.

I'm getting better with the patience piece in my old age. I'm still not exactly Mr. Zen when it comes to things not going smooth when they should. I have to keep my cool and not get pissed at this car and sell it. I've wanted a fox coupe for a LONG time (this is my 10th stang) and they are going to be all but impossible to find in 5 years as clean as this thing is.

Well I was able to get it on all 4's last night in order to do a garage alignment on the Toe up front.

So the curse strikes again. Late model overnighted the part. Sent it yesterday, I got confirmation from UPS for 10:15 today (yesterday afternoon is when the conf was sent). Then last night I got another notice that they did not receive the part in time and it will be delayed another day (I assume that means Monday since it's not a sat del item). So oddly enough Snail mail is going to beat an overnighted package.

To add to my awesome adventure I stripped out threads in the factory prop valve (Not so sure they weren't previously stripped) and have to locate another one today. I'll miss my alignment and a HUGE Mustang only (once a year) Event this weekend due to the debacle. Sucks but is part of the Red car curse (the other red fox I owned fought me every step of the way too).

In the grand scheme it's just a car but man I'd like for it to go right for once.

Even with the centercaps off that car looks fantastic, doesn't it? That red paint is something else, man. Great car. Simple, clean, sexy.

Just so you know, it's NOT just the red ones that do that.. I'm a team member, remember?
I'm beginning to think it's foxes in general, mine's not even a coupe. We'll have to get to the bottom of this.

I think it's just anything with my name on the title. Foxes, new edges, SN's.... Doesn't matter. haha. If I own it then things will go awry. Even if I've done the mod/build 100 times for others, mine will go south.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm excited to get it out and about and represent foxes again. I've put 100 miles on it since I've owned it and am itching to drive. (even if it is an AOD car still).
