I have a 1993 2.3L notchback AUTO with a 1990 notchback 5.0L auto...COMPLETE car.

What I need to know is...do I need to swap the brake lines and brakes over as well as the dash harness? I really am not looking forward to pulling the dash out of both cars if I can get away with just using the ecu harness from one car.

I've heard horror stories of people doing the swap and using 2 different years like this one and their fuel pump/coils not coming on...

a nice thorough answer would be greatly appreciated

If you want to put a 5L in your car this is the wrong forum... we only do the correct 2.3 turbo swaps here.

What exactly was the question?

This is the 2.3 forum, and not a good place to ask 5.0 swap questions.

I have at least one of both, so I slide between the two. Got a couple Turbo Coupes in the back for another project. Anyway...

The brakes are totally independent of the engine harness, as far as I know, and mostly located in the same place, down by the wheels. Booster vac hose needs adapting, but I think the combo switch wiring should stay the same.

I swapped a carbed car to a 5.0, and I ran into trouble with the dash harness.

Best is to keep the original car dash harness. The 5.0 efi harness and puter should swap in one piece. Don't think you have to pull the dashes.

Seriously, please take this to the 5.0 forum...

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

the dash harness should be the same for 4 cyl and v8 cars. you will need to replace the computer and the hook up the FI harness.
there is a sticky in the 5.0 tech forum for this
