On a road trip and broke down on the side of the road, seems to be the smog pump cause it seized up won't turn at all by hand. So what size belt do I need, what belt path configuration do I need and what consequences come with driving another 1,000 miles so I can get back home?

It's a stock engine 5.0 V8 with a/c

Try this routing with an 84.5" belt assuming your pullies are stock

Consequences would be potential damage to the cats due to incomplete burn of any hydrocarbons that are left from the combustion process. Given that you are driving 1000 miles, i assume you are doing highway miles, so your cats should get nice and hot so this really shouldn't be too much of an issue if the vehicle isn't running overly rich. Just get the pump functional as soon as you can.

If you have an off-road H-pipe, no consequences at all.

I drove my car for several years (prob 1-2K miles) without the smog pump hooked up with factory cats. I late rehooked the pump up. As far as I could tell no damage was done to them.

One time I had an issue same as yours and I simply took the pump out and took it apart and found that a plastic vane that creates the pumping action was jambing it from spinning so I removed all of the plastic vanes and it simply spun like a regular pulley for another 12yrs. while appearing to look factory............

This is basically food for thought for others who happen upon this thread as it may lead to a quick side of the road fix...........

Good Luck
