94-98 Chin Spoiler Install - Do I Need To Remove Anything?

On my test fit, the spoiler seems to be up against the factory air dam. Did you guys get rid of that or did you just drill/bolt the spoiler around the outside?

Nothing to remove. It screws up to the bumper cover at the leading edge. At least that is how the one I got from AM installed.
