95 Cobra Ignition/stalling Issues Can't Figure It Out Any Help Appreciated

Yea I replaced my distributor with a brand new one I suppose it could be a lemon but I'ma make sure my problem isn't somewhere else before I go marking everything again and yanking it back out haha that damn hold down screw is a bitch with big hands

After checking for spark (first step of no crank checklist) I noticed a small circular connector about the size of my pinky in between the battery and starter it appears the clips on it had broken and it was basically just floating so I connected them firmly and car cranked right up
One end follows starter cable down and couldn't see where the other end goes anybody know what this connector is? I taped it to hold it temporarily but would like to replace it

This is it it's right between the battery and fuse box/starter plug

No the black end visible in the picture runs down with the power to the starter and the other end is a pink and white wire that goes into a wire cluster coming out of the fenderwell

Alright so I traced the black wire it's a ground to the starter (atleast appears to be) the other end who knows but I decided I'd just superglue it n it's starting n running fine for now but if I do ever find out what it is ill let ya know
Also I did do both KOEO AND KOER code checks and only came up with two codes for my cats (I have none) and a code for egr (also deleted) so as far as I can see I'm hoping I'll be good to go haha

I think that's actually the starter solenoid energizing wire, I don't think there's a ground that runs to the starter. A tip for you if you need to rig a fix to a connector where the clips have broken off over the years, use a drop of RTV silicone instead of super-glue. It's really easy to pull apart if you need to, but it'll stay together through all the vibrations.

10-4 atleast I know what it is now thank you downside is after superglueing it together it ran good yesterday (to gas station and store) then this morning wouldn't start for work so I'm going to check under the fuse box maybe it's got a bad connection to the relay

That wire, as it attaches to the starter, is often corroded and ready to snap off. It's a skinny blade connector exposed to the elements. I'd start there - clean it and make sure it's nice and tight. Be careful not to snap off the blade on the solenoid or you might need to replace the starter.

I'm pickin a new relay up today I'd never really payed attention but now if it won't start the fuel pump won't come on but if I run KOEO test the fuel pump will run as part of the test so I'm guessing my relays crapping out because fuel pump works fine during diagnostic that or I got a bad connection

Your fuel pump relay is in the CCRM. If it works during the KOEO test it'll work at other times too. The starter relay doesn't have anything to do with the fuel pump running or not. Checking grounds is good. Checking the wire as it attaches to the starter is even better.

When you say "won't start" does that mean cranks and won't fire, or does that mean doesn't crank at all? Your diagnostics are starting to confuse different systems and that's a quick way to get nowhere.

When it acts up (90% of starting attempts) it will crank but not start also no fuel pump kicking on but randomly(other 10%) while I've been checking different things it will start and run fine it just depends on how long it decides to run
