95 Cobra T5 vs 95 GT T5

I have cobra T5 and i love my 4.10's never would go back anything less. i may even go to 4.30s

awesome. so the different gear ratio with the cobra t5 ( opposed to the gt t5 ) and 4.10s are not 'too much'.

-i currently have a stock t5 in my 95 gt with 4.10s. 1st gear is short and i like it but would not want it much shorter

will a 95 cobra t5 bolt right up to a 95 gt?

bell housing the same on both?

can i use my flywheel or do i have to use the cobra flywheel?

can i still use my centerforce clutch i have in mine with a cobra t5?

It is the exact same tranny as far as bolting it all up goes.

IMO to the guy said "it helps when you powershift a lot" you would be STUPID to power shift a stock t5 if you want it to live long. (IE powershift never lifting the throttle)

Anyhow I got Cobra geared T5 and 4.10's cruising RPM on the freeway is always 2800-3100 depending on speed, with 17/245/40 tires. (60-70mph)

thanks guys.

everything is the same when bolting it up....thats what i wanted to hear.

so other than the phosphate covered gears, any other differences that you guys know of?

I powershift once in a while and when I'm at the track its hanging in there after more than 100 times if you know how to do it right and maintain the tranny (IE change the oil regularly and using synthetic oil)it will last if you just powershift all the time with out maintaining the tranny IT WILL GRENADE but since the gears are phosphate coated it helps it alot on the gears engaging smoother as long that you have a aftermarket shifter .By no means powershift the tranny constantly it will fail if not properly cared for

gear ratios are the same.

yes they are coated, but the big difference lies in the input shaft pocket bearing being a roller type vs a non caged bar bearing type.

it bolts right in with absolutely no modification what so ever.

fwiw you can upgrade your T5 to cobra specs for not that much money

Just my 2 cents, I've seen too many t5s break without even powershifting to want to do it myself. I've broken mine twice in 2.5 years and never powershifted it. :nonono:

so the bearing type for the input shaft is def a plus? but as you say, will still bolt up with no problems.

can i use a stock t5 GT bellhousing with a stock cobra t5 tranny?
