Hi, I am new to the forum. I bought a 96 Cobra SVT SC (procharger) in April w/less than 48K. It now has a busted piston. I've heard it may be better to get a new (same) engine to replace it, as that particular engine was largely hand-built. Cost/estimates received on a new engine vs. new pistons and rods (forged performance) are about the same. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated
. Thank you for your time. I've searched this forum, too, so if I missed a post that covers this please just point me in the right direction and I can go from there
. I've also checked SVTPerformance.com and will be checking modularfords.com (besides auto wrecking yards online to see if they have the 4.8 DOHC on hand). I realize I won't know more till the engine is pulled, just trying to determine the best course of action...
