97 3.8L swap to 95 5.0L

ok, so i have a 97 3.8L/T5 and my good friend has an entire engine out of a 95 GT for sale. the 5L has EVERYTHING (intakes, manifolds, front accessories, and even the engine harness) so i want to swap it for my sluggish 3.8L.

being that the 5L has all the necessary wiring and what-not, what all would it entail to bolt in? ive done numerous v8 swaps, carbureted conversions, etc., but never an EFI swap.

im just unsure of any differences in the CHASSIS harnesses. will i be able to plug in the 5L engine harness to my car's harness, or will i have to change wiring pins or anything? i realize i will have to get a GT speedo, maybe upgrade my fuel pump, get a pcm from a 94/95 5speed, etc. but im concerned as far as the hooking up of all things necessary to make it fire and run.

i know this cant be too difficult, the only reason im wondering if there are any differences is because the donor car is a 95 5L and my car would have come with a 4.6L... did the chassis harnesses change at all?

have any other information i should check out? id really appreciate it. thanks a million!

It's gonna be more difficult since Ford changed how they made the V6/GT/Cobra in 96. I just converted a 94 V6 to a Cobra, and it was pretty straightforward - the Mustangs in 94 & 95 all started on the same assembly line, so even the dash harness is the same.

I do not know the wiring differences between the 94-95 and the 96-98 Mustangs, so I can't help you on what needs to be swapped. If you had a 94 or 95 V6, I'd be happy to help.
