98 Drive Train Whinning

I just got a 98 with a manual shift. It has a whinning in the drive train that gets louder with speed. if I let off
throttle it will stop whinning, even without pushing in clutch. Also when I get out of the throttle and back in it, the rear will sway to the right. Engine is good , and seems to shift good with no slipage. Guy I bought it from said it slips out of third sometimes.can anyone tell me what it might be?

Call your Mustang shop and describe some more scenarios, they will help you figure out if its a throw out bearing or pilot bearing related issue. In the mean time you should always be 100% confident that all your fluids are pristine. Get some Amsoil (or equivalent) gear oil and replace your differential fluid, it's easy to do. For added protection, add the small bottle of FRPP friction modifier. If it's a 5 speed, also change the transmission fluid with Mobil1 automatic transmission fluid (or Syncromax) reccomended by Tremec. It's an easy job too.
