Progress Thread 99 Gt Vert/sketchy_gt

Pull the motor out the top. Remove the hood for more clearance. I've pulled both a 4v with a manual, 2v with a manual and 2v with a 4r70 (That one sucked) that way. We also installed the 4v with a manual and long tubes as well as a 2v with an auto and long tubes (don't recommend this one) through the top.

Ford had a problem with the white paint peeling in that time period.

Lucky you with the lift, that can make all of the difference in the world! I always dreamed of one but woke up to just a cherry picker.

It was for sure a red bumper at one point someone had to have to put a used bumper on it. It obviously has been wrecked at some point but it never was filed because it has a clean carfax, but oh well a little paint work is nothing to me I work for a body shop(engine work is what I'd rather be doing but body work isn't bad)

A good friend of mine and I share a shop that we do auto work on the side in, he does more body work and I'm kinda the engine/mechanical guy, but we both do a little of each there. Its more of a performance/restoration type stuff shop, so having the lift was definitely necessary

Okay, so the midpipe is out and I've done about all i can do just so its still mobile under its own power, so I can drive it on a trailer and take it to our shop, hoping to do that in two weeks. I've got some stuff the lady wants done before the wedding. So after the honeymoon I'll have two days off from work to get this turd to the shop and start pulling the motor

Sounds like you have an understanding wife to be, lucky guy!

She's definitely the one lol, we have plans for 3 more mustangs after this one is finished. Another new edge, a 67 coyote powered coupe and a foxbody

Okay, it has been a long time since I posted an update, ended up just fixing my leak in the intake(bought a new one with the metal crossover) and putting the car back together. But I’m having a big hanging idle problem now that I haven’t had before. If I’m coming to a stop light and press the clutch the rpm will go to 2000-2500 rpm and stay there til I’m fully stopped then it might come on down to 7-800 I’m not sure what’s happening but other than that the car drives great and it’s nice to have it back out since it hasn’t been driven in 4 months

Okay it has been a long time but just to let you guys know that i sold the vert this past weekend, and i am looking at a 94-95 gt just to build a quick daily out of, but i will have a new edge again within a year or so as i plan to build a "street car" with one to get more serious in local bracket racing. Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way with the vert. As I said I'll be back eventually, but for now I guess im moving back over to the Foxbody section
