A word to the wise ain't necessary :nono:
"It's the stupid ones that need the advice"

At first ... I found that funny :D

Then I got to thinkin

What if a fellow was just ..................... inexperienced

Still ... My first reaction was to laugh :rlaugh:

then again .............. I don't wanna be presumptuous :)

Grady

Ha ha, that is funny.

However Mr Wise one :hail2: , I like your take on it. Experience and intellect ain't got nuttin much to do with one another. Exempli Gratia: I have some experience and I'm a moron. :rlaugh:

I suppose context is nice too. If someone posted your quote on a forum (and in reply to someone asking something simplistic), that probably gets a :notnice: from me. That would be like posting that saying in a classroom environment.

I applaud all the folks whom come in here to share their wisdom or those that come in to seek assistance. When we post a new thread, it is often because we don't know and do need some advice. That's smart to do in my book. It's the morons whom don't ask or have an inquisitive side, but just spew total freakin BS (we run into these folks at the gas stations. The ones whom insist that we have mod motors and such) that worry me (and to whom said quote would apply). And those folks don't or won't hear a word of logic. It's easier to pop the hood and show off the 5.0L mod motor (says the moron: "I told you. You probably didn't know a 281 can be punched and legged into a 5.0L. That's clearly what you have").

Sorry for the tangent (I don't think all that had much to do with anything Grady was talkin about). In short: I think it's better said: A word to the less experienced. . The irony is that experience about what works often comes from screwing up. :rlaugh: So someone saying 'how to do it' probably has screwed up and is calling the kettle black.

:OT: Kck, good to see a Walla Walla folk in here. :nice: I was accepted to Whitman with some benefits, but upon visiting couldn't figure out what people would do for fun (typical 18 year old immaturity). :rlaugh:  As viewed from my cyclops (in hindsight  ), I'd have received an awesome education had I attended. Priorities.

Well JT

Some of that stuff I understand ... I think
and
Some of the other stuff you talk about ........

I think it has something to do with .....
 is the toilet paper supposed to roll off the front or back

Also I kinda think Old Fellers like you and me :D

Sometimes we wonder about some of the Q's from the younger folk
and
Have to think .........

Have you been livin under some rock
or
Are you really just that much ................................ inexperienced

Hey ... there is always the flip side of everything ... Ain't there :D

I don't know where
and
I don't care to know where :)

I'd plug in an iPod on my Stang's sound system ......
even if I had one ... which I don't .....
but
That is the Great Thing about this place

As long as I don't act too presumptuous (Old Man Like)
I can get the straight scoop from the inexperienced young folk
about things they have lots of experience with ;)

Only here on 94-95 :SNSign: can we ponder these mysteries of Life :nice:
and
Share in their solutions :D

Grady

You hit the nail on the head Grady. I know for me, I have to go to the youngsters to ask about IPODs (for example) and all that crazyness. I wouldn't have a clue how that stuff works - not because I'm that stupid, but because I'm inexperienced with it. To Mike, Duncan, Joe and the others whom have been gracious enough to help me with computer issues, you know exactly what I mean. I'm a puter moron.

Back to IPODs: Those smart IPOD folks probably look at me like how we look at some of them when they ask a gearhead question that's a little elementary. But when they're gracious in answering my question, they get a :salute: from me. I try not to be condescending and when that same sentiment is reciprocated, I'm much obliged.

I did forget to say that (speaking for myself), there's plenty I don't know. But collectively (as a sub-forum here), we got most things covered. :nice: How cool is that!

JT...what do you mean......I thought we "DID' have mod motors in our 95's.......

Will, thank you for the correction. See what I mean. I'm stupid and ignorant because I can't get that through my head. That explains why I need 4 O2's and an OBD-II reader. :rlaugh:

And one more thing JT :D

Since we are talkin about learnin good stuff from the younger members :)

The other day I was told I should be saying engine as opposed to motor

Soooooooo

I guess those Stangs that came along after ours are using ...........

Mod Engines

Sometimes ... things just don't seem like they make sense

Mr Grady,

I wouldn't pay it too much mind. :D Most of the time, it's the engineering types whom are real precise about the electric motor vs a gas powered engine (or whatever the fine point is). The irony is that motor is becoming more and more correct with these new high techory powerplants (whew, I avoided that one) they're coming out with.

Mod Engine.............. that rolls off the tongue like peanut butter on a hot day. I'll stay incorrect and keep it a mod motor. :D

The one I always like (it pissed my friends off): "Nothing is proven more effective than product ABC". Well, call me stupid but if nothing is better, I'll save my money and take/use nothing. :D

Others: damper, dampener, dampner all seem to get hosed up.

A harmonic balancer doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me. I think of HB's quelling torsional vibes.

I better stop before I take your thread way off the deep end. I keep doing that lately. :nono:
My apologies oh wise one. :hail2:

Well JT

Since this thread has no point at all
and
I was careful to put it in Talk :D

The deep end is as good of a place for it as any :nice:

Most Likely ... It ought to be deep sixed :rlaugh:

There is absolutely nothing of value to be learned from it :nono:
and
I somehow feel a bit silly for even posting it!
