A friend of mine has a 90 Gt with a 302, and someone told him that he could switch out his computer for one from a different model/year and net gains. i told him to rip it all out an use a carb, but he wouldnt listen.. anyone have any insight on this? I know that the one i took out of mine was an A9L, and i just happened to notice it when i put it on ebay. so im guessing he has an A9L as well for his 90 Gt.. please let me know what ya think

Thanks for the info J, I really appreciate it!

does anyone know if there are any benefits from swapping 1 computer to the other? what i mean is do some computers that could swap into a 90 GT contain better fuel maps or anything like that?

Well if it is a 5 speed and has an A9L then you could switch to an A9P.

They are known to have a slightly more agressive timing curve.

You can use an A9P computer in an Auto or 5 speed but you can olny use an A9L in a 5 speed. It will not work with an auto.

Hope this helps.

heres the thread i made too

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=482320

even "jrichker" said that a A9P will work in a "pinch", no one was ever saying back then that the a9p was better, just that it would work

A9P is not necessarily better, it depends on the setup.

With your setup it will be just fine. Your car will require tuning and a chip/tuner anyway, so it doesn't really matter in your case. Also the A9L is the most comon, so getting a tuner or chip to work with it is easy.

I hear you.

And with a Turbo'ed Mustang and using a PMS I wouldn't say you are a noob.
