Trying to decide between A9L (Stock in my car 90 5.0 LX) or X3Z (93 Cobra). Current setup (5.0, T5) Prom77, BBK 70mm TB, Cobra Upper & lower, headers, exhaust, 3.55 gears, MSD ignition, elec fan, etc. Stock longblock. Tons of suspension mods.Usage as driver and autocross.

why would you swap a cobra puter into your GT? that is a backwards swap, IMHO.

If you have issues, i would tune what you have (the cobra puter is a step down, IMHO. plus you have to deal with the fuel delivery calibration).

Good luck.

Since I'm running mostly Cobra type components up top (77MAF, 70TB and 24lb inj) wasn't sure if the X3Z was a better choice. All I have is seat of the pants comparison between the two. What are the downsides of the cobra computer??

the tables in the cobra puter can leave something to be desired. the cobra puter is what calibrates for the injectors - that should be considered with regard to parts needed/costs.

one can look at tuning sites for info on the tables of the various puters (i think A9M's look pretty nice. ).
Good luck.

Read a 'stroker build' article in 5.0/SF (can't remember which issue) stating the Cobra computer was conservative with the fuel ... they opted for the A9
