Anyone have any dyno graphs with this combo. Im trying to decide if i should get a new intake. Right now i have a cobra intake and 65mm tb. Im leaning towardView attachment 276911 the more street oriented edelbrock performer 5.0 (not rpm II) and having it ported and 70mm tb. How much difference between ported cobra and ported performer? Its mainly a street car with 2 to 3 trips to the strip every year. Also doing interior gray to black, heater core, mass air conversion. Ordered Afr 165 #1404 comp heads and fti custom cam last winter. Car is 1987 no option coupe 2715 lbs 3 55 gears auburn pro. Weight was with no passenger seats and hardly any fuel. Cant wait to get it all together i just ordered lifters ,pushrod length checker, assembly lube and roller rockers. Last winter i found thread with graphs but cant find it now.View attachment 276913View attachment 276915View attachment 276917

Ed said Holley systemax . I dont really have the $600 for the holley right now. I have a cobra intake that i have sold when guy gets tax returns. I can get a good deal on eddy performer for same price im selling cobra. I can find the $ to get either of them ported. Just wondering how much the differences were between intakes with this combo. If anyone has link to old thread with dyno graphs would be appreciated...

Look for a used holley if Ed said thats the one. An edelbrock performer would be a waste of time over your cobra.

Also, you do not need a 75 mm TB. Getting one will not hurt your straightline performance though, just your engine will not be able to use the potential air, that a 75 mm TB area can provide. In due time, with a little stroke, might create a need.

The Cobra will actually do pretty all right with that setup. I've seen Cobra intake cars make 300 rwhp, so don't get discouraged just because its a factory piece. In the future, I'd upgrade when you have the money, but don't skimp now just because you don't like the Cobra.

Freed up some $ sold some stuff i wasnt using. Found used holley systemax II with bbk 75 tb and spacer. Also decided to get a 331 stroker. The fti cam and the afr 165 comps were for 306 probably not the best for the 331. Figured id do the shortblock while i had it apart. How does the combo sound?

Cam is alittle over .600 intake and around .570 exhaust.

Combo sounds fine.

I am guessing you have more exhaust duration than intake duration, after looking at your combination?

Yes more exhaust duration. Also when i go to put engine back in where do i attach lifting fixtures. Not sure if i should lift engine and tranny by my afr heads. This is my first set of aluminum heads.
