Air Bag light flashing after T-5 Swap

I recently completed a t-5 swap in my 1992 5.0 AOD. The swap went well, but now my Air Bag light flashes two times every 30 seconds or so. I removed the steering column cover again and checked all the connections. They all look good. Is this just a code that can be cleared somehow? Maybe because I disconnected it during the swap and then reconnected it back. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help.

Does your horn still work? If not its your clock spring.

You'll need to read the airbag code in order to see what the cause of the light is. It could be that you disturbed the wiring, but it could also be unrelated, and just so happened to come on after your trans swap. Here's a website that lists the codes:

Thanks for your help so far.

Horn still works.

It is flashing code 34 which is "Low resistance in driver air bag circuit" according to the weblink you provided me.

Any idea how to fix this??

My Service Manual says a Code 34 is most likely the Clock Spring.

And Ford doesn't have the clocksprings any more - and no aftermarket versions are available for a '92 - I'm looking for one too.

Looks like I'm on the hunt for a clock spring. I'll let you know if I find one...let me know how your search turns out.

I had to replace my Diagnostic Monitor last year on my 92, it was a major PITA trying to find one, good luck on the Clock Springs!!!
