You can. You need a wideband that datalogs A/F vs. rpm and a place where you can run at WOT in fourth (for 5 spds). However, as jstreet0204 posted the flash tuner unit itself will only allow you to add or take away fuel, only within fairly broad ranges of rpm and only at WOT.
This is true, I don't use a flash tuner. I use the tweecer software, and a laptop, which allows basically full control over nearly everything in the eec. With it I can datalog boost, rpm, a/f, etc.

might want to push him that direction then... considering he has limited access to... well... anything of use, he really needs to learn to do it right himself with our guidance, and get the gear needed for self build/tune. tweecer, SCT pro racers, and i think there is one more.... but you get the idea.

I had the basic combo that you are talking about on my 2000. If you have no detonation( spark knock ) you will be fine n/a. ( Dyno Tune )Adjusting the a/f will just give you the maximum hp for your combo. You will not hurt anything. My car made more hp without the MAC CA that I originally had, only minimal ( may have even been temp and conditions ) 14s in a/f are fine at low rpms. I'l bet you are in the low 13s or high 12s, A/F, at WOT up in the rpm band.
